DANCING BUCK has plenty of giddy up and go when the gates open and a fast workout says he will likely be blazing again today. CHEWING GUM has upped his performance significantly in his last pair of second starts after a layoff. ARZAK ran his best race last out but not by so much that regression is a big worry.

His recent workouts say he will be flying again. GULFPORT has been an even money favorite or less in each of his four races. TOP RECRUIT really exploded in performance winning his last. He too has workouts since that suggest another major effort here.

6^th race [NY, Alw 85000 N1X, 6F TURF] – (4) Frank’s Art (A) was rank on the backstretch of his most recent start at Saratoga and then rallied to finish third. (7) Sheriff Bianco ran third in his last two starts at this level. (10) Courageoous Oh La is projected to be on the lead once again. Last time he set the pace and ended up in second. (12) War Terminator made his 2022 debut at Saratoga when he pressed the pace. He could get a favorable set up for a closing move while racing from the outside.
8^th race [Miss Grillo (G2), 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (6) Be Your Best is unbeaten in two starts at Saratoga with a maiden win and then the P. G. Johnson both going today’s distance. (4) Alluring Angel won her first start at the Spa and then missed by a nose in the Untapable at Kentucky Downs after breaking slowly. She will stretch out from those two sprints. (2) Free Look lost to the top choice in her debut and then came back to break her maiden as an odds-one favorite for Chad Brown. (1) Georgees Spirit moved from dirt to turf in her second start to get her first victory at Saratoga for Jorge Abreu.
10^th race [Champagne (G1), 1 mi] – (3) Verifying is a half-brother of the champion $7 million earner Midnight Bisou. Brad Cox brought him to Saratoga and he won at first asking as an odds-on favorite with a front-end effort going six furlongs. (2) Top Recruit has two wins from three starts. He broke his maiden at Churchill Downs in June, ran third at Prairie Meadows being the very speedy and unbeaten Tyler’s Tribe. He made a big jump in speed figures when he beat Curly Jack, who came back to win the Iroquois (G3), in the Ellis Park Juvenile. (6) Gulfport ran four times as a heavy favorite winning his first two starts at Churchill Downs in a maiden and then the Bashford Manor by more than 12 lengths. In his last two starts he was second in the Saratoga Special (G2) and the Hopeful (G1). (5) Blazing Sevens was an easy winner in his debut race for Chad Brown and then was third in the Hopeful.
11^th race [NY, Alw 85000 N1X, 6F] – (5) Captainsdaughter (D) pressed the pace and faded to fifth after getting bet down from 18-1 to 13-1. (3) Kant Hurry Love broke her maiden in her first start of 2022 with a front-end effort for Christophe Clement. (10) Patria will hope to get a fast track which she prefers in this field she is projected to be on the lead once again. Irad gets on board for the first time. (8) Ribot’s Valentine is another one that wants a dry track. She was third in her 2022 debut for Shug McGaughey on a sloppy and sealed track.

2nd race – (1) Shaniah was second or third in her last three starts and is overdue for a win. (4) Icy River was an easy maiden winner and should be watched here. (6) Minute Waltz may appreciate the turnback to a sprint. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-6.
5th race – (2) Prairie Dunes was bothered at the start and then flew home for second. Has the breeding to thrive around two turns. (10) Tapit’s Conquest was a game second in his debut and should be the main rival. (9) Escapologist could be a factor in his debut. (8) Pyrenees could take a step forward in his second start. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-8-9-10.
7th race – (8) Desert Wolf had a troubled start then rallied belatedly for fifth. Should be much more competitive today. (3) Eldest Son may benefit from his debut and could be a contender in this field. (1) Frank’s Honor will benefit from a rail trip. (6) Recker Point can make his presence felt here. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-6-8.
9th race – (1) Speaker’s Corner has been facing some of the best horses in training and will welcome some class relief here. (3) Fulsome seeks a third straight win and cannot be ignored. (5) Three Technique just missed last time and belongs in the exotics. (10) Twilight Blue loves this track and should be a factor. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-5-10. Doubles: 1-3-5-10 with 2-4-5.
10th race – (2) Art Collector used his speed to win the Charles Town Classic for a second straight year and can control the pace here as well. (5) Hot Rod Charlie is game and consistent and looks like the main rival. (4) Rich Strike returns to the site of his Kentucky Derby stunner and figures to be a factor in the final furlong. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-4-5.

Ack Ack Stakes – Grade 3 | Purse $300,000 | One Mile | Three Year Olds and Upward

Analysis and top contenders:
Before we get to the top contenders to win, and to make us a profit, we have to discuss the heavy morning line favorite (even money), Speaker’s Corner (1). He’s won six of 12 including the Grade 1 Cigar Mile in April, but his three starts since then have been sub-par, with NO excuses, and he appears very beatable here. He could go for the lead which is how he won the Cigar, as well as the Gulfstream Park Mile prior to that in April, but there are others who can take away his advantage and I’m just flat out going to take a stand against him.
Silver Prospector (6) and Injunction (7) are the two horses I’m concentrating on for win bets and as keys to exacta profit, opening at 12 to 1 and 6 to 1, respectively, although Silver Prospector has banked $1.2 million while Injunction (just a four year old) has a 4-3-1 record in 10 races on dirt.
Silver Prospector (6) ran his best race in a while just three races back at the end of May, taking the very similar Steve Sexton Mile Stakes convincingly by a length and one-half, with a very strong 112 Equibase figure. Two races later, on 8/6 in the West Virginia Governor’s Stakes, won by Fulsome (3), Silver Prospector made a premature move going from eighth after a half-mile to fourth, only a length or so from the lead, before running evenly the rest of the day. The key may be a jockey change to the #1 winning rider for the Asmussen barn in Ricardo Santana, who rode Silver Prospector to victory in the 2019 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes over the track, one of his two wins in four tries over the surface. This mile will hit him right between the eyes and he is very playable because of that.
Injunction (7) took four tries to break his maiden, but did so by nearly 10 lengths last October in a one-turn race under Bejarano, who has ridden him to two other wins in four races since. Injunction won his next start, last November, at this one-turn mile trip at Churchill Downs, about as impressively then was off for three months and overmatched at that point in his career in the Gulfstream Park Mile. Two later he finished second, again at this trip and over the track, in the Knicks Go Stakes. Three later, on 8/6 at Ellis Park, Injunction ran the best race of his career when battling head-and-head for the entire mile and held on to win the R.A. “Cowboy” Jones Stakes with a career best 106 figure. As a four year old he may still have better in store and trainer Vaccarezza entered, then scratched him, from the Mint Million Stakes for this dirt race and over a track he obviously likes.

Win bets:
We should consider Silver Prospector (6) and Injunction (7) at odds of 3 to 1 or higher.
Exactas: Silver Prospector (6) and Injunction (7) over ALL. (Note: the reason for this exacta wheel is there is not a single horse in the 10 horse field which can’t finish second and if one of the 20/1 or 30/1 shots does that we could make a hefty profit).
Optionally: All over Silver Prospector (6) and Injunction (7).
This bet is an “exacta as a place bet” and used because both horses open at 10/1 or higher. If lower than 10/1 I would not make the bet, but similar to the reason for the exacta wheel above, of another horse which goes to post at 10/1 or more wins the race, and one of these two finishes second, even for $1, it could pay handsomely.

#2 Free Look showed solid improvement last time when breaking her maiden at Saratoga. Look for more improvement today, which will make her tough. #4 Alluring Angel has run well in two starts so far; however, must stretch out in distance today. Her pedigree suggests she can handle it, though.

Race 9: Belmont Turf Sprint Stakes (G3)

#3 Nothing Better scratched out of a race at Parx last week to run in this one, which is a good sign. He comes into this race after hitting the board in seven straight starts. #6 Voodoo Zip should be the one that benefits from a hot pace today. Look for him to come with a solid run down the stretch.

Race 10: Champagne Stakes (G1)

#3 Verifying was solid on debut at Saratoga, winning a maiden special weight on Travers Day, and should improve off of that effort today. Obviously, he has the breeding to be a special horse. #2 Top Recruit has been improving with each race, while it is a solid sign that Irad Ortiz Jr. has jumped aboard to ride.

Race 11: Allowance

#3 Kant Hurry Love goes for two straight victories after a nice win last time out at Saratoga. This will be her second race off of the layoff as well, which should lead to improvement. #10 Patria should improve today after facing winners on the dirt last time out. Irad Ortiz Jr. jumps aboard today, which is a good sign.
