I'll take my chances with the Braves as a -130 home favorite in Game 2 of the NLCS against the Phillies. Atlanta dropped Game 1 at home 6-7 as they just didn't get the kind of start they needed out of Fried. He gave up 6 (4 ER) on 8 hits with just 2 Ks in 3 1/3 innings. I'll put my trust in Game 2 starter Kyle Wright, who was 13-2 with a 2.86 ERA and 1.138 WHIP in 17 home starts (14-3 team record). Braves are also 22-3 in Wright's last 25 starts as a favorite of -110 or more and 11-2 in their last 13 home games in the month of October. Give me the Braves -130!

We saw the Dodgers jump all over the Padres early in Game 1, but I expect more of a pitcher's duel here in Game 2.

Yu Darvish will toe the slab for San Diego, and he's 4-1 with a 2.25 ERA in his last five starts. He's also 1-2 with a 2.52 ERA in four starts versus the Dodgers this year.

The Dodgers hand the ball to Kershaw, who is 5-0 with a 1.60 ERA in his last five starts.

The Padres have gone under in seven straight road games versus a left-handed starter.

I think Kyle Wright and the defending champs are well worth the price of admission here in Game 2 of this NLDS. The extra rest definitely led to some "rust" for the Braves in yesterday's 7-6 loss. Atlanta mounted a late come back, but it fell short. The Phillies were able to ride their first playoff appearance since 2011 to a series opening victory, but with having earned the "split," I'm finally expecting some regression here from the visiting side. Zach Wheeler was 12-7 with a 2.82 ERA for the Phillies, while Wright was 21-5 with a 3.19 ERA. Wheeler has had success against the Braves. Wright has had success against the Phillies. These guys are a "wash." I don't trust the Phillies bullpen though. And the Braves respond well after a loss. I look for Atlanta to get to an early lead and then never look back. Consider ATL in Game 2!

If Gabriel Saez can be patient from the outside post and not gun the horse too early this horse has the pace profile to beat these restricted claimers at long odds.

The best 2 year olds in the country debut at Saratoga and this has to be one of the best in the Pletcher barn. Irad says all systems go.

Race 6: This 7-furlong sprint on the main track is for 2-year-old fillies. I'm firing on the Brad Cox-trained filly The Alys Look. This daughter of Connect has an eye-popping work pattern that includes a 1/108 bullet on August 19th at CD. She was just a $60K purchase at last year's Keeneland September sale which pales in comparison to six others in this field that sold for over $100K. The sharps will know if she's live so watch the Tote and hope to get 4-1 or better off the 6-1 morning-line. Cox puts Geroux in the saddle which only adds to the appeal.

Race 8: Today's finale goes a mile on the grass for non-winners of two. Bill Mott brings Coleridge to Lexington off a January layoff where he cruised to a 3-length victory on the turf. Now he makes the surface-switch where this son of Uncle Mo should relish this mile distance. Irad Ortiz takes the mount who already has 3 wins from 11 mounts this past weekend. I love him at 12-1 morning-line odds even though I anticipate he'll go off at single digits.
