Unders, unders, and here comes another one. I keep waiting for the offense to break out but it isn't happening. We have seen great pitching to date in this series, and there will be more to come when Javier and Cole face off. Both starters have had great success against the other team this season. Cole already has two wins under his belt. And Javier, who was dominant down the stretch, gets his first play-off start. He pitched 11 innings of solid relief in last year's postseason. Other than some solo shots, there has been no consistent offense. The bullpens have had a day's rest. Houston's' relievers have been superb to date in the post season. I do";t see this game going over. You know what to do!

*Free Play on Kansas State* The Kansas State Wildcats are in a great situational spot here. Kansas State has had two weeks to prepare for this game. They are coming off a bye week. Overall, Kansas State is pretty healthy for this deep into the season.
TCU is in a much more difficult position. The Horned Frogs had a thrilling win over Kansas in the final moments a couple weeks ago. Last weekend, TCU trailed nearly the entire game before rallying to beat Oklahoma State in double overtime. It is hard for a team to be on top of their game and bring their best every single game. TCU is a very good team, but I don't see them as the type of team that can avoid a slip up.
Kansas State's ground attack should have a lot of success here. Deuce Vaughn and Adrian Martinez are going to be tough for the TCU interior defense to slow down. The Kansas State defense is the best defense TCU has played all season as well.

The Key: The like the situation for the Wyoming Cowboys this week. They are off a bye and are 4-2 in their last 6 games overall since a season opening loss to Illinois, which doesn't look as bad now. That includes upset wins over both Tulsa and Air Force in Laramie, which is one of the toughest places to play in the country. The other two losses came to BYU and San Jose State, so the Cowboys have played a tough schedule. Now they host Utah State, which is coming off a lackluster 17-13 win at lowly Colorado State as a 14-point favorite. The Aggies are 2-4 SU in their last 6 games overall including losses to UNLV and Weber State. The Aggies were down to their 4th-string QB against Colorado State which is part of the reason why they struggled. And they may be without their top 3 guys again this week. Utah State won the Mountain West last year, but they aren't even close to that same team. And it's worth noting the Cowboys crushed the Aggies 44-17 last year and rushed for 362 yards on them in the win. The Cowboys are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 matchups. The favorite is 7-2 ATS in the last 9 matchups. Take Wyoming.

Saturday CFB Free play. My selection is on Nevada plus the points over San Diego State at 10:30 pm et on Saturday.

Both of these teams have been disappointing this season although expectations were considerably higher for San Diego State. Nevada enters this game off an embarrassing loss at Hawaii and has now suffered five straight defeats, both SU and ATS. The good news is, the Wolf Pack have gone a perfect 7-0 ATS the last seven times they've played at home off four or more consecutive losses, outscoring opponents by an average margin of 6.4 points in that situation. The Aztecs suddenly have a quarterback controversy, or at least competition, on their hands with dual-threat Jalen Mayden starting in place of a concussed Braxton Burmeister last time out. All indications are that Burmeister is healthy but he was spotted working out with the wide receivers at practice earlier this week, meaning Mayden is likely to get another start here. Regardless, the San Diego State offense has struggled mightily this season while the defense hasn't been nearly as dominant as we've come to expect. There's certainly a path for Nevada to lean on its ground game and effectively shorten this game in the role of home underdog. Note that San Diego State is just one game removed from getting torched for 316 yards on 44 rush attempts against Boise State. While game script had something to do with that, the Aztecs actually led for a good portion of that game before coming unglued. The bottom line is, San Diego State has covered the spread just once in six games this season and that came in a narrow three-point victory over Toledo. This series has been played extremely close to the vest with the last four meetings having been decided by five points or less, with neither side scoring any more than 28 points in any of those contests. Take Nevada.

Today’s Keeneland Hot List races to watch

1st race – (1) Out of Alcatraz didn’t fire on turf but is bred for dirt and should rebound here. (7) Led Tasso rallied for third at this level and should be a threat today. (6) O’Connor Sunset is training nicely for his career debut. (11) Qualified may wake up in a claimer. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-6-7-11.
5th race – (5) Catskill Humor is a firster for Cox who can win at first asking. (3) She’s Fancy is another firster who should be a factor. (4) Twirled should be a main threat while moving over to the main track. (10) Puffin could turn in an improved effort today. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-4-5-10. Doubles: 3-4-5-10 with 2-3-4-6.
6th race – (3) Artorius disappointed in the Travers but should bounce back here. (8) Gunite is razor sharp and figures to be the main rival. (4) Pinehurst flopped last time but is training smartly for this start. (2) Provocateur turned in a rare weak try last time and could be more competitive here. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-4-8.
9th race – (8) Wicked Halo was a Grade 2 winner at Saratoga and seems poised for a fourth straight win. (6) Colorful Mischief has enough speed to be a factor here. (1) Union Lake has speed from the rail and could be tough to catch. (5) Fingal’s Cave cuts back from some sharp two-turn races and looks like a main contender. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-5-6-8. Doubles: 1-5-6-8 with 5-6-7-12.
10th race – (7) Push Button adds blinkers after finishing a close fifth in his debut and might prove best. (5) Timo was second last time and should be the one to fear. (12) Pancake House has late kick and might be a stretch threat. (6) Good Soldier cannot be ignored in this spot. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 5-6-7-12.

7th race [Hill Prince (G2), 1 1/8 mi TURF] – (3) Constitutionlawyer (A) got caught in tight quarters down the stretch and finished fourth. Blinkers come off as he tries this turf stakes race. (7) Mackinnon moves from the California barn of Doug O’Neill to Chad Brown who wins with 31% of new horses like this. Remember that last year this guy was third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) after winning three times. Since then he ran in stakes only. (1) Celestial City was an allowance winner last month after a second in the Saranac (G3) and a third in the Hall of Fame (G2) at Saratoga. (2) Grand Sonata was second in the Dueling Grounds Derby (G3) at Kentucky Downs after running in two legs of the New York Turf Triple for Todd Pletcher. As a winner of two stakes at Gulfstream Park in the winter, he gets some class relief in here.
8th race [NY, Md 40000, 7F] – (8) M. C. Double R (B) dropped into a maiden claimer for the first time, got bumped hard twice, checked sharply, got the lead, and finished third beaten by only a head. (1) Destin Hoofman was fourth in his debut last time and now breaking from the rail is projected to be on the lead. (10) Fast Study was fifth in his first start after racing wide. (5) Testa Dura was well bet in his first start for Linda Rice but got off to an awkward start. Rice wins with 26% of her second time out runners.
9th race [Alw 105000 N1X, 1 mi TURF] – (4) Danzigwiththestars has strung together five races with good speed figures including an allowance loss by a head last time. (7) Internal Capital broke his maiden last time at Monmouth Park for Chad Brown as the even money favorite. (2) Steady On got his first victory last month at Aqueduct with a front-end effort for Todd Pletcher and is projected to be on the lead again. (1) Chulainn came back from a June layoff for Graham Motion and when last seen was winning the top level allowance for NY-breds. He has a past win against open company in a starter allowance.
10th race [NY, OC45k/N2X, 6F TURF] – (3) Deep Cover (C) returns from an August layoff when he was bet down from 4-1 to 2-1. In the stretch the rider was intimidated by Irad Ortiz and finished second. (5) Phantom Smoke moves back to NY-bred racing by going in for the claiming option. He won at this level two races back and then tried an open company allowance. (9) Not Phar Now was claimed for $25,000 by the Noda Brothers from an open company win and moves back to state-bred racing for the tag. (4) Neuro comes back from a short layoff after winning the first-level NY-bred allowance.
