FLYING CONNECTION - This filly was sharp enough to post a 'top two' workout recently. I think she's ready for today's event. Shipped in on November 7th to finish first here. Take right back again. Juarez was aboard this filly in the last race and was impressed enough to take the horse right back. Lasix can take some getting used to, especially for a filly. They usually hit stride the second time using it, like we have with this horse. This filly recorded a good speed figure of 79 in her last race. That speed figure should be good enough to triumph this time. MO BONITA - This race horse should be rumbling down the lane.

I have to support STREET CULTURE here. Has respectable early speed and should fare soundly against this group of horses in this race. This gelding ought to be given a shot just off the earnings per start in dirt sprint races alone. Rice has this gelding racing well and is a respectable pick based on the quite good speed figs garnered in sprint races lately. DEVIL OR ANGEL - Has been constatntly running well recently. Formidable jockey and conditioner combo winning 18 percent of their races working together. HANGOUT - Looks very good against this group of horses in this race and will probably be one of the front-runners. This gelding with Worrie in the irons makes him a definite contender.

My pick in this race is MY BUDDY B. Has strong Equibase Speed Figures and has to be considered for a bet here. This colt obviously likes the distance, going 3 for 4 in his races as of late. Will most likely be one of the leaders of the pack going into the halfway point of the race. SHELTOWEE'S BALI - This equine could stun this lot at a nice number. Displays reliable Equibase Speed Figures on average overall when put alongside the rest of this group. SPEIGHTY WAR - He has a quite good distance/surface win record - 3 / 10. Must be used in the exotic wagers.

That 58 fig this filly earned in her last race tells me she's a major player in today's event. SEEKINGARRANGEMENT - This filly looks like a natural router, based on efforts in last 2 sprint races.

If you want a formidable play today, feast your eyes on FORKNER HANOVER and is a very good value wager given the line. Achieved a 70 speed figure last out. A duplicate affair here should get the win in this contest. He has been racing strongly and the speed ratings are among the most competitive in the group of horses. MULL OF KINTYRE - Battling sharply, recorded a formidable TrackMaster Speed Rating in his most recent gathering (67). Formidable driver/trainer rankings make this race horse a very promising choice. Unquestionably will be putting some green stuff down in this race.

An excellent choice. Could be considered in this one if only for the really good speed rating recorded in the last gathering. FROZEN HANOVER - When the starter calls, standardbreds beginning out of the 4 hole have more wins than you would expect. This colt has been running against some of the most competitive horses in this field of horses recently. DRAGON CITY - Some trainers just fit better with certain interesting entrants. While their hot start is a distant memory, this should be a good place for the Sabres to get back on track. They're getting healthier and come in well-rested. The Habs have been scoring goals lately but they're also giving up a lot of them. Off a 5-4 OT win over the Flyers, note that they're 1-6 their last seven, after scoring five or more goals. Going back further finds Montreal at an ugly 24-47 (-30.1) the past 2+ seasons, when facing a a team with a losing record. Don't be surprised when the Sabres snap their losing streak and avenge an earlier home loss.

BRYAN POWER

Play: Ball State/Miami OH Total Over 44.0 (-110)

Both teams are looking to become bowl eligible, but only one will do it Tuesday when 5-6 Ball State meets 5-6 Miami in the regular season finale. Miami was a winner for me last Wednesday when they went to Northern Illinois and prevailed 29-23. Ball State is off a 32-18 home loss to Ohio. The Cardinals have lost three of four while the RedHawks have lost three of five. So I'm not interested in playing either side here.

When handicapping this matchup, perhaps the most interesting thing is that Ball State has gone Under in six consecutive games. There is a chance they could be without RB Steele after he suffered a concussion last week. And we aren't 100 percent clear on who will be playing QB for Miami this week as Gabbert (ankle) didn't play at all last week. But the backup, Aveon Smith, has seen plenty of action this season and accounted for three touchdowns last week.

The Under is a combined 16-6 for these two teams this season (both 8-3). But looking at the O/U line for tonight, it's the lowest for any Ball State game this season. Yes, the Cardinals have gone Under six straight times, but four of those games have seen 46 or more total pts scored. As for Miami, there's a chance this could close as their lowest O/U for the season as well. I know there are key injuries to both offenses, but the best move here is taking the Over. There's definitely value in the current number, especially if RB Steele were to play for BSU. I'm fine with whomever plays QB for Miami.
