The Texas Tech Red Raiders are one of the most underrated teams in the country due to their 13-12 record that has seen them suffer seven losses by 7 points or fewer. They are much better than their record, and they are playing up to their potential here down the stretch.
The Red Raiders have gone 3-2 SU & 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall with home wins over Iowa State and Kansas State. Now they have their sights set on revenge from a 70-72 loss at Texas as 8-point underdogs in their first meeting this season. They blew a 9-point halftime lead in that first meeting to boot.
Texas is getting a lot of love after going 5-2 SU & 5-2 ATS in its last seven games overall, including a blowout home win over West Virginia over the weekend. The Longhorns are just 2-3 SU & 2-3 ATS in their last five road games with losses by 11 at Tennessee, by 11 at Iowa State and by 8 at Kansas.
Texas is 1-8 ATS in its last nine road games following a home win by 10 points or more. The Longhorns are 0-6 ATS following a home win where they scored 85 points or more this season. Texas Tech is 8-1 ATS in its last nine home games after covering four of its last five coming in. The Longhorns are 7-20 ATS in their last 27 games following a win. Play on Baylor Baylor -6: I don't think 6 points will be a problem for Baylor to win by. This Bears team is simply not getting the respect they deserve. I think a lot of people, including myself, really changed how we viewed this Baylor team after they started out 0-3 in Big 12 play. Losing by 15 on the road to ISU and then losing back-to-back games at home to TCU and Kansas State. Bears have gone 9-1 since that 3-game losing streak and are sitting tied for 2nd in the Big 12 at 8-4, just one game back of Texas.
They have dominated at home in Big 12 play during this run, beating Oklahoma State by 16, Kansas by 6, Texas Tech by 27 and Oklahoma by 10. To me, there's a high probability they win this game by 7 or more.
West Virginia numbers wise is a good team. KenPom has them ranked 20th best team in the country. In reality they are just 4-8 in Big 12 play and are 1-4 on the road in conference games. They just lost by 34 at Texas on Saturday. I don't see them bouncing back. Not in their 2nd road game in 3 days. Baylor is simply playing too good to pass up on them at this price. Give me Baylor -6!
