    Race 6 - Claiming - 7.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $23000 Class Rating: 93

FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD. THREE YEAR OLDS, 120 LBS.; OLDER, 124 LBS. NON-WINNERS OF A RACE SINCE APRIL 15 ALLOWED 2 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $12,500

    RECOMMENDED CHOICES
    # 1 STRAIGHT SHOT 3/1
    # 6 CREATE AGAIN 5/2
    # 2 I'LL FIGURE IT OUT 4/1
STRAIGHT SHOT looks very good to best this field. Shows reliable speed figures on average overall when compared with the rest of this group. Has been moving strongly in races of this distance, going 5 out of 23 under similar conditions. Should go to the lead and may never look back. CREATE AGAIN - Must be considered a solid contender on earnings per start at the distance/surface alone. Has to be given a chance here on the basis of the figures in the speed section alone. I'LL FIGURE IT OUT - Looks decent versus this group of horses and will most likely be one of the leaders. Garnered a reliable speed figure in the last race. Can run another good one in this race.

      Race 10 - Claiming - 300y on the Dirt. Purse: $9400 Class Rating: 70

QUARTER HORSE 300Y, FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES. THREE YEAR OLDS, 125 LBS.; OLDER, 128 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $5,000.

      RECOMMENDED CHOICES
      # 9 TAC IT LIKE A PRINCE 7/2
      # 10 SWEET MARY JEAN 3/1
      # 5 AUSTIN CARTEL 8/1
I lean toward TAC IT LIKE A PRINCE here. Has to be given a chance here on the basis of the figures in the speed department alone. Is worth a look and may be a bet - strong Equibase Speed Figures (59 average) at today's distance and surface recently. SWEET MARY JEAN - With a very good 62 Equibase Speed Figure last time out, will clearly be a factor in this race. Vivanco has been scorching the last month, winning at a nifty 21 percent rate. AUSTIN CARTEL - Put up a very strong speed rating last time out. Shows evidence of the look of a lucrative play, averaging a solid 54 speed fig which is one of the top in this group of animals.

        Prairie Meadows - Race #10 - Post: 9:52pm - Maiden Claiming - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $22,015 Class Rating: 52

        Rating:

        #2 TAP ON BY (ML=20/1)
        #5 HANDSOME STRANGER (ML=5/2)
        #1 MACH SWEDE (ML=3/1)

TAP ON BY - Based on this gelding's recent efforts, he should benefit from today's shorter distance. The last time I saw this horse was at Prairie Meadows in a race with a class figure of 66. Dropping considerably in class figure this time out puts him in a solid position right here. I like this gelding. Has the topmost earnings per race in this one. I think this gelding is ready to run a good one. He's had enough outings since the vacation and should be fit. HANDSOME STRANGER - The May 28th clash at Prairie Meadows was at a class level of (61). Dropping down in the class scale significantly, so he should be in a good spot. MACH SWEDE - The Jun 25th race at Prairie Meadows was at a class level of (61). Dropping down the class ladder significantly, so he should be in a good spot.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 BABYS TIME TO SING (ML=4/1), #9 ONE SOCK BILLY (ML=5/1), #6 DIXIE THREE G (ML=8/1),

BABYS TIME TO SING - Awfully hard to bet on this steed when he hasn't been showing any signs of life recently. Pace makes the race. Hard for this speed merchant to be able to manage the pace pressure from the rest of this field. Not likely that the rating he notched on Jun 26th will be enough in this race. ONE SOCK BILLY - Garnered a mediocre speed fig in the last race in a Maiden Special race on Jun 26th. Doubtful to see an improved performance off of that rating. DIXIE THREE G - This gelding hasn't been showing me anything positive in the last two races. No success for this pony in a short distance contest over the last sixty days tells me that this gelding is in a difficult situation Don't feel this steed will make an impact today. That last speed rating was mediocre when compared with today's Equibase class figure.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Have to go with #2 TAP ON BY on the win end if we get at least 7/2 odds

          Charles Town - Race #8 - Post: 10:32pm - Maiden Claiming - 4.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $12,000 Class Rating: 47

          Rating:

          #10 TALENTED CORINNA (ML=5/1)
          #7 HOLY HIP (ML=9/2)

TALENTED CORINNA - Concepcion comes to race again after getting to know the filly in the last contest. Like the way this filly's finish positions keep getting better. That's a sure sign of improving form. Nice return on investment for this jock and conditioner duet. HOLY HIP - Filly's last workout was second fastest of the day for the distance. Rode this animal on June 24th and Hiraldo is back again in the irons in today's contest. This horse coming off a solid race in the last month or so is a solid contender in my humble opinion.

          Vulnerable Contenders: #1 WEST COAST WILDCAT (ML=9/5), #2 ICY STARE (ML=4/1), #9 FIDDLERSHOTPLEASUR (ML=6/1),

WEST COAST WILDCAT - This morning-line choice hasn't been to the track in awhile. No drills since last race. Generally I need a sprinter to have some recent success in sprint affairs in order to wager on her. Improbable that the speed figure she registered on June 10th will be enough in this affair. ICY STARE - Not likely that the speed figure she notched on June 15th will hold up in this race. FIDDLERSHOTPLEASUR - Didn't meet expectations when favored twice. This mare is always close, but just doesn't win. Hard to invest in her on the front end. This vulnerable equine ran a quite unimpressive rating last time around the track. She shouldn't improve and will probably get beat in today's race running that rating.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Hal - TALENTED CORINNA - At Charles Town on June 23rd this filly posted a speed figure of 43 in her last race. She has the top last figure in the field.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Put your money on #10 TALENTED CORINNA on the nose if you can get odds of 3/2 or more
