NBA
NEW ORLEANS -6 vs Dallas.....8:05 EDT
DALL is playing their 7th game in 10 days.
That is VERY RARE in the NBA and I go against teams in this situation virtually every time.
In this case I like it alot because Dallas played, and beat, the Spurs yesterday.....and the Spurs may be their biggest rival.
DALL has lost their last 4 road games.
87-96....okc
76-93....sa
86-93....hous
87-115...utah.....(all losses by 7+).
NEW ORL is riding a 5 game win streak and are rested...haven't played since Monday.
If Dallas goes down 10 in the 4th, they throw in the towel.

NCAAB
WITCHITA ST -4 vs MizzouSt.........9:30 EDT
We've played WITCH @ home a few times and will stick with them tonight.
They have won 8 straight @ home, including wins over CREIG,ILL ST,N.IOW....the top teams in the MizzouValleyConf.
MIZZ ST has lost 6 of their last 7games ...and 9 of 11.
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Denver Nuggets
Playenver -5.5
20 Units, Take Denver ATS, This pick falls into one of my top NBA systems and the Nuggets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games when playing a team that has a losing record on the road. Portland is just 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games as a road dog of +5.0 to +10.5 points and they are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games when playing with 0 days rest. Denver looks to avenge their 9 point Dec.23 road loss to the Trail Blazers and they are 26-7-1 ATS in their last 34 games when favored by -5.0 to -10.5 points. Denver is 23-9-1 ATS in their last 33 games against the Trail Blazers and I look for them to bounce back with a strong outing at home after dropping 2 straight road games. Take Denver who beat the Lakers by 11 points in their last home game as my NBA TNT Smash.
NHL Dog of the Week
Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Washington Capitals
Play:Toronto +235
20 Units, Take Toronto ML, We are getting solid value here Thursday night with the Toronto Maple Leafs who are playing with a lot of intensity lately. The Leafs are 4-1 in their last 5 games and their last 7 games have been decided by just 1 goal. The Capitals are coming off of back to back losses by an average of 3.5 goals per game and they have allowed an average of 4.2 goals per game over their last 5 games. Take Toronto as my NHL Dog of the Week for Thursday.
NHL Smash
Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Nashville Predators
Play:Columbus +120
20 Units, Take Columbus ML, We are getting solid value here with the Blue Jackets Thursday night who are 4-1 in their last 5 games as a dog of +110 to +150. The Blue Jackets are 7-3 in their last 10 games when playing with 1 days rest and Nashville is just 1-5 in their last 6 games after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game. Columbus defensively despite being 2-3 SU over their last 5 games have allowed an average of just 2.32 shots on goal per game. There is nothing this team would like more right now than to end their 9 game losing streak in Nashville, that's right the Blue Jackets have lost 9 of their last 9 games in Nashville but that streak ends tonight. Take Columbus as my NHL Smash.
Villanova has won six straight over Providence and with a chance to win 25 games for the first time since 1951, as well as gain the Big East’s double-bye for the upcoming tournament, the Wildcats will come big tonight in this home win and cover. The Friars are just pretenders despite their home upset of Pitt last week. On the road, they’ve lost by 33 at UConn, by 27 at West Virginia and by 18 at Louisville. They haven’t beaten Nova since February 2004 and are facing a streaking Nova team that has won four of five after Monday’s 17-point win at Notre Dame. The Cats know they need this one if they want the conference tournament’s coveted double-bye (the top four teams get em) and Scottie Reynolds and the Cats will bring the full force in rolling tonight.
Tennessee (+2) at South Carolina (158') - 7 p.m. EST
Tennessee has won four straight meetings in this series and fresh from a big win at Florida, the Big Orange will keep it rolling with this outright win tonight in Columbia. The Gamecocks just aren’t going to get much scoring outside of Zam Frederick and Devan Downey. South Carolina needs to force a buddle of turnovers to win, but I like how well the Vols have protected the ball the past two games with just six turnovers in the win over the Gators and 10 in the previous win over Mississippi State. Vandy shot 50% from behind the arc in beating South Carolina last game and the Vols will be connecting from the outside tonight while Wayne Chism and Tyler Smith will get theirs inside. South Carolina is on a 1-4-1 ATS slide while Tennessee has won four of its last six straight-up. Bruce Pearl’s club is beginning to pull it together and the Vols will steal this one tonight.
Penn State has covered five straight over Illinois including a five-point win in Champaign three weeks ago and the Nittany Lions will win this one outright tonight in State College. Just can’t trust this Illinois offense that struggles to score on the road and was limited to just 33 points in the season’s first meeting. The Nittany’s have won straight-up seven of their last 11 and this team is doing all it can to get into the Big Dance. A win over a nationally ranked team in March would help their chances and if they can win out they’ll secure the third seed in the upcoming Big Ten tournament. Talor Battle, the league’s second-leading scorer will play well and Penn State will win this one outright.
Pick title: 2* Dallas +6 1/2
Pick Date: 03/05/2009
Pick description:
I know Dallas played last night and beat San Antonio and the Mavericks have been dissapointing on the road. But Jason Terry returned recently to the lineup and that makes a significant difference. New Orleans has won five straight but only one cover and mostly against mediocre to feeble opposition in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Sacramento. They only cracked the 100-point plateau once in that span against defenseless Sacramento and you'd have to believe this will be fairly low scoring anyway tonight. Plus Peja Stojakovic is listed as doubtful with back spasms. The visitor has covered the last three in the series and only once in the last 10 meetings has the Hornets been favored by more than six points. That was last April when they were giving seven here and won by five. The Hornets have basically been overpriced at home all season logging a 14-16 ATS record and they've lost nine games in their building straight-up. But the Mavericks haven't beaten a team with a winning record on the road since Christmas Day. Consequently, Dallas didn't make the cut on the premium side but I still sense there's decent value here.
