CLAUDETTE HEIR - Racing at a similar level as last race on Sep 8th at Remington Park. I think Young has found a good spot for her, and I like her chances right here. In my opinion, you need 'class' to be successful on the grass. This one has the highest average class figure in the bunch. ORNATELY - Shipped in on Aug 24th to take the top prize here. Take right back again. Comparing how the horses in this field have fared under similar conditions, I see this animal has the highest Equibase speed figure for the distance-surface. She has the uppermost (EPS) earnings per start. Give the once over to this horse. This filly is in excellent form right now. Finished first last time around the track and comes back soon.

Vulnerable Contenders: #11 KIRBY KAYE (ML=9/2), #5 GHOST BAYOU (ML=5/1), #7 SKY ROCKER (ML=6/1),

KIRBY KAYE - Hard to bet this one after not being near the front at 1 mile and now being entered in a race of 7 1/2 furlongs. This entrant ran a disappointing speed rating in the last race. She shouldn't improve and will likely lose in today's event running that number. GHOST BAYOU - The pace situation just isn't too promising for this front-runner. Many other horses would have to scratch to promote her dreams at winning. SKY ROCKER - Usually I need a sprinter to have some success lately in short distance contests in order to support her. Hard to put your cash on this speedball. Too much speed in the race.

1st race [Md Sp Wt, 1 mi] – (1) Revolving Credit pressed the pace, got the lead, and then finished second beaten by a half-length. (4) Paris Style ran twice at Saratoga and got a third and a second. (2) Vivid Dreams missed by a nose in his first start of the year at Monmouth Park and then shipped north to the Spa and was third. (6) Magical Song moved from the barn of Brad Cox to Todd Pletcher and since made one start at Saratoga on a muddy track.

2nd race [NY, Joseph A. Gimma, 7F] – (3) Caldwell Luvs Gold won both of his starts which were at Saratoga moving from her maiden victory to a NY-bred stakes race. (5) My Mane Squeeze was a convincing maiden winner in her second start at the Spa. (2) My Shea D Lady broke her maiden at Gulfstream Park with a more than three length margin and then was third behind the top choice in that stakes race. (4) Nicky Jolene got her first victory in her second start at Belmont Park by four lengths.

3rd race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (2) Arisaema (A) tossed her head at the break putting her last in a 12 horse field and she managed to rally for second. (8) Starts Now gets blinkers on after three second-place finishes in a row and Irad Ortiz stays on board. (3) Lady Laoban gets a pass for her last bad race which was moved off the turf. Her prior start was a third on the grass. (4) Splashy could get loose on the lead in this field. Two races back she ran second but did not appear to like the yielding turf at Saratoga.

9th race [OC 62k/N2X, 6F TURF] – (1A) Senbei (A) was restrained early, got blocked and checked, and lost all chance. In his prior start he set the pace and then missed the win by a neck. (10) Chewing Gum gets class relief dropping in for the claiming option after contesting tough allowance conditions this year and graded stakes last year. At Kentucky Downs he had a good third for Bill Mott. (5) Fauci had two starts this year and both were second-place finishes but the speed figure made a big advance. (2) Run Curtis Run will make his 2023 debut after racing in stakes competition and winning the Carle Place at Aqueduct.

Best bets: Revolving Credit (1st); Caldwell Luvs Gold (2nd). Best value: Arisaema (3rd); Senbei (9th).

1st race – (1) Attache (B) lacked room when second against better company. Atones for that loss here. (2) Power Alley drops into a claimer and looks like the main rival. (3) Seas of Normandy rallied to break his maiden and should be a stretch threat here. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3.

3rd race – (1) New Boss had a bumpy, wide trip in a stakes. Gets better racing luck from the rail. (3) Goin Good has been no worse than third in five of her last six starts. That consistency makes her a big factor here. (8) Star Devine should appreciate the turnback to a sprint. (4) Linguistic could work out a good trip here. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-4-8.

6th race – (2) Greers Ferry was an improved second last time and should be able to handle this field based on his pedigree. (3) Smokey Smokey has been third and second in his two starts and looks like the one to fear. (4) Snead rallied wide for third in his debut and can take a step forward here. (12) Polar Bear Plunge may warm up on turf. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-4-12.

8th race – (3) Port Townsend showed speed when fourth in her debut and may hang on here. (8) Musical Prayer seems sharp for her career debut. (2) Cobalamin also seems on edge for her first start. (1) Souper Explosive cannot be ignored from the rail. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3-8. Doubles: 1-2-3-8 with 5-6-8-9.

9th race – (5) Highland Falls won his career debut for Cox and can make it two in a row here. (8) Bramito was bumped as the favorite and didn’t fire. Gets a second chance here. (9) Dai Vernon woke up on dirt and should not be overlooked. (6) Saqeel has enough speed to be a threat in this field. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 5-6-8-9.
