                        Sean Murphy

Sunday NFL Free play. My selection is on Pittsburgh minus the points over Houston at 1 pm et on Sunday.

While the Texans were impressive in last Sunday's rout of the Jaguars in Jacksonville, I'm not ready to buy into them just yet. The Steelers have their flaws to be sure, but have a terrific opportunity to move to 3-1 on the campaign before the schedule toughens up with a home date with the Ravens next week. I like the matchup here with Pittsburgh's vaunted pass rush going up against a makeshift Texans offensive line. I see this as a 'back to Earth' game for Houston rookie QB C.J. Stroud. On the flip side, the Steelers offense remains a work-in-progress to be sure, but I think offensive coordinator Matt Canada's oft-conservative gameplan works alright in this particular matchup. Houston remains without two of its top pass defenders in Derek Stingley Jr. and Tavierre Thomas. Regardless, the Steelers figure to use their ground attack and short passing game to ultimately wear down the Texans defense and secure a hard-fought road win. Take Pittsburgh.

                          Mike's Steelers/Texans Free Pick

The Steelers tend to perform better in the role as an underdog, and here they're not only a favorite, but a road favorite.

I think this looks like a letdown for the Steelers following wins against Cleveland and Vegas.

The Texans are coming off a 37-17 win at Jacksonville. Rookie QB C.J. Stroud passed for two touchdown passes and averaged 9.3 yards per attempt and has looked better and better for each game. The Steelers give up 235.3 yards per game in the air, which is 22nd in the NFL.

2* free pick on Houston Texans+3.

                              7* NFL Rams/Colts Free Pick

PLAY ON LOS ANGELES RAMS +2

I'll take my chances with the Rams as a 2-point road dog against the Colts. This to me is a good spot to buy low on LA coming off of that loss to the Bengals on MNF and sell high on Indianapolis off their big upset win on the road against the Ravens. Big thing to note with the Colts win over Baltimore was all the laundry list of injuries the Ravens were dealing with. Baltimore had 7 starters out for that game. Now it is the Colts who are really banged up going into this matchup, especially up front on the offensive line. I look for Aaron Donald and that Rams defensive front to dominate and for Matthew Stafford and LA's offense to bounce back after struggling against a very good Bengals defense. Give me the Rams +2!

                                Jack Jones

Jack's Free Pick Sunday: Cleveland Browns -2.5

The Cleveland Browns have the best defense in the NFL by a country mile. They allow 10.7 points per game, 163.7 yards per game and 3.4 yards per play this season. That defense is the reason they should be 3-0 right now. But they gave up two non-offensive touchdowns to Pittsburgh on the road in Week 2 to lose by 4 points.

Deshaun Watson played his best game as a Brown last week in a 27-3 win over Tennessee. He completed 27 of 33 passes, and the defense held the Titans to 94 total yards. Holding an opponent under 100 yards is unheard of in the NFL. They also held the Bengals to 142 total yards in their dominant 24-3 win at home in Week 1. So they have outscored their two opponents 51-6 combined in their two home games.

Now they host the Baltimore Ravens in a key divisional game, so there will be no letdown. It's also a banged-up Ravens team that was missing seven starters last week in their upset home loss to the Colts. That's a big reason I was on the Colts +8 last week, and it's a big reason I'm on the Browns this week. Baltimore may get a few starters back this week, but they are still one of the most injury-riddled teams in the NFL to open the season.

There's too much on Lamar Jackson's shoulders, and he did not handle it very well against the Colts. I don't expect him to have much success against this Jim Schwartz defense either. The home team has won each of the last four meetings in this series. I question how much the Ravens have left in the tank after playing OT last week, while Cleveland made easy work of Tennessee. Bet the Browns Sunday.
