KINETIC SWAGGER - The Aug 30th contest at Canterbury Park was at a class level of (90). Dropping down in class ranks significantly, so he should be in a good position to win. Sophisticated handicappers will tell you that this horse has strong speed. Just check out his most recent fig, 84. That one fits well in this group. SECRET PATH - Looking at today's class rating, this horse is encountering an easier field than last race out at Parx Racing. You should toss that last race at Parx Racing on a sloppy track where he finished out of the money. Should do well in this field on a fast track. ARTISTIC REASON - Rode this horse on September 29th and Mena is right back in the irons in today's contest. Taking a class drop in class figure points from his September 29th race at Delaware Park. Based on that information, I will give this horse the edge. Sub-par performance last time around the track at Delaware Park was due to the off-going (he ended up eighth). Will most certainly do better right here under better track conditions.

WEYHILL ROAD - Will almost certainly compete well in the pace battle which bodes well with this group of animals. Had one of the best Equibase speed figs of this field in his last race. NOW THAT ICAN ROCK - Has decent Speed Figures and has to be considered for a bet in this competition.

FIGHT'N READY - The rider/handler duo of Velazquez and Stewart has a strong return on investment together. Finished off the board last out at Horseshoe Indianapolis, but was within 5 lengths of the winner. Opening at 6/1 makes me think he's got a chance. I like to wager on this angle, a thoroughbred coming back off a strong outing within the last month. Just see his last speed rating, 72. That one fits in this field. Trying to be a first time winner moving from a race on the turf to the main track. I think Stewart will have him conditioned well for today's event. ROCKSTAR RED - The last time I saw this horse was at Saratoga in a race with a class figure of 83. Dropping considerably in class rating this time puts him in a solid position right here. The last speed fig of 72 is the best last race fig in the bunch. Maiden is switching to the main track, and may not have liked the turf last out. Has a good chance to get into the winner's circle for the first time. AWAY FROM HOME - Colt had the second fastest workout of the day prepping for this. SOLOMON VANDY - Was in a Maiden Special race at Kentucky Downs last race out. That affair had a class rating of 86 and he is moving down right here. A certain strong challenger. It looks like the race should set up for a stretch runner. This gelding's running style fits the bill nicely.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 BIG SKIPPY (ML=4/1), #5 UNWRAPPED (ML=8/1),

BIG SKIPPY - Tough to take this questionable contender at this price after the result (sixth) in the last race. Finished sixth in his most recent race with a mediocre fig. When I look at today's class rating, it would take an improved performance to score after that in this field. UNWRAPPED - Unlikely that the speed rating he registered on September 24th will be good enough in this clash.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - FIGHT'N READY - This gelding was stuck in an outside post last time. Will fare better with an inner post.

Good for a win bet just off the excellent prior class figures. Have to like this interesting entrant. Certainly did like this gelding's last race. Ran a big 88 TrackMaster speed fig. Major player. GO LONG - Could provide us a top prize based on great recent speed figs - earning an avg of 83. Surely the class of the field of horses with an average rating of 85. A nice contender. BRACE FOR LANDING - You have to like a horse that wins a lot, very high win percentage. More wins than normal have been earned by harness racers lining up behind the 5 post at The Meadows.

Is a formidable choice given the 82 speed rating from his most recent race. Have to support a solid standardbred coming out of the Monticello Raceway 2 position. The win figure is fantastic, way above normal. CONSUS VICTORY - Has the look of a profitable play, averaging a rather good 85 TrackMaster Speed Rating. Enters this race with respectable TrackMaster class stats relative to the race - worth a look. ITSONEOFTHOSE - This gelding getting the win wouldn't be impossible, a chance.

She has a solid distance/surface win record - 1 out of 6. BELLA Y SOFIA - Is hard not to examine based on Equibase speed figs which have been quite good - 54 avg - of late. The speed figure of 63 from her last race looks strong in here. MISS LUCKY LADY - With a quite good 72 speed fig last time out, will unquestionably be a factor in this affair. Has very good Equibase Class Figures relative to this field - worth a look.

KESTENNA (GB) - This jockey and handler have a profitable ROI when they unite. Oliveros rode this racer for the initial time in the last race and comes right back today. This thoroughbred coming off a nice contest in the last month is a serious competitor in my opinion. I like the fact that this mare's last figure, 67, is tops in this group. IRON BERTIE - Last event at Mountaineer Park on October 17th was a big class drop for this equine. Facing similar foes right here in this race. She should do well today. AYY LADIES - Although it's been awhile, this filly last won at this same class and distance. I think she could run back to that old form today. This rider and trainer have a favorable ROI when they work together. The September 25th event at Mountaineer Park was at a class level of (74). Dropping down the class ladder drastically, so she should be in a good spot.
