Rocketman Sports FREE CBB play Saturday 12-2-23

UTRGV @ Tarleton State (5:00 PM EST)
    Play On: UTRGV +11 1/2

The UTRGV Vaqueros travel to Tarleton State to take on the Texans on Saturday afternoon. UTRGV is 2-6 overall this year while Tarleton State comes in with a 5-2 overall record on the season. Tarleton State is 0-4-1 ATS last 5 games when playing in December. Tarleton State is 2-4 ATS last 6 games when playing on Saturday. The UNDER has cashed a lot over the years in this series giving us a little value on the double digit dog here. My Rocketman line has Tarleton State winning by only 3 points. We'll recommend a small play on UTRGV today! Thanks and good luck, Rocky

          Doc's Sports

Free Play from Doc’s Sports. Take #322 Florida State Seminoles-2.5 over Louisville Cardinals (8p.m., Saturday, December 2 ABC) The Seminoles need a win to complete an undefeated regular season and likely a trip to the college football playoff. Florida State beat Louisville last year with QB Joran Travis got injured as well and look for the same thing to happen in 2023. Louisville lost to their rival last week for a fifth straight games despite having a double digit lead. I look for their to be a carryover effect into this game and Coach Brohm does not perform well in December. Lay the points with the better all around team in this game. Do not miss out on Doc’s Sports weekend card featuring top plays in football, basketball, and hockey. Sign-up now with a long term package and let 52 years of handicapping experience work for you.

            7* NCAAF - Michigan/Iowa Free Pick

            PLAY ON: Michigan -21.5

I'm laying the huge number with the Wolverines against Iowa in the Big Ten Championship. I don't know if we will ever see an offense as bad as the Hawkeyes pull off 10 wins in the Power 5 again. What's crazy is they should have been 11-1 with that nullified punt return for a TD in the Minnesota game. The only way a team will be able to pull something off like this again, is they play a cupcake schedule like what Iowa played. The one team they played that's even remotely close to the Wolverines is Penn State and they lost that game 0-31. They finished that game with 76 yards of total offense, 4 turnovers and just 4 first downs.

I get Michigan is coming off their big win against Ohio State, but I just see no way they suffer a letdown with what is at stake in terms of making or missing the playoffs. This is a team that's been on a mission to win it all since Day 1. I think they are going to destroy this Iowa team, who has ZERO ability to play catch up if they fall behind by 2 or more scores. Give me Michigan -21.5!

                    Hot List Key:

A : A preferred horse to watch B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches in the final 3 minutes and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worse
                    * - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

1st race – (8) Excellent Question comes off a fast-closing maiden win and deserves top billing. (1) Confer was second in her last two starts and looms the main rival. (4) Be My Sunshine may have moved too early last time. Can work out a better trip here. (9) Crystal Coast can duplicate her sharp form on turf. Betting strategy: 8 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-8-9. Doubles: 1-4-8-9 with 1-4-6-7.

2nd race – (4) Get Frosty was a beaten favorite when third last time and can bounce back with top effort here. (1) Neom City looks like the one to fear. (6) Gullfaxi belongs in the exotics. (7) Mas Vino will be aided by less distance this time. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-4-6-7.

4th race – (1) Bandero rallied for third after a lengthy layoff and should move forward here. (7) Just for Luck takes a big class drop and cannot be ignored. (4) Honor Gold can bounce back after a dismal try. (2) Copanello Bay will benefit from a fast pace. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-4-7.

8th race – (5) Atone won the Pegasus Turf last year and this looks like a great spot to prep for a repeat bid. (10) Sky’s Not Falling could be dangerous while stretching out. (2) No One to Blame has enough speed to be dangerous here. (6) Love Me Not has enough speed to be a factor throughout. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-5-6-10.

10th race – (7) Dancing N Dixie won an open stakes and looks best in this state-bred stakes. (5) R Harper Rose is unbeaten and the main threat. (1) Honey Dijon will be a threat in the final furlong. (2) Fields of Green should be in the hunt throughout. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-5-7.

                      Hot List Key:
A: A preferred horse to watch B: Secondary horse to watch
*C: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 1st through 3rd
*D: Went down 2 or more betting notches and finished 4th or worst
                      * - 4 or more betting notches if 11-1 or more.

1st race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 6F] – (7) Liberty Central (B) was second in his debut behind a very good winner and was well clear of the rest of the field while racing on the wrong lead down the stretch. (9) Big Prankster has a pair of place finishes in his two starts with one on the turf and one on the dirt. (3) Hair On Fire was sent off at 7-1 in his debut and finished fifth for a trainer that is better with second-time starters. (2) Perno will make his first start for the Bond barn which is good with young horses.

4th race [NY, Md 30000, 1 mi] – (5) Seba M (B) broke last and got far behind in his first start when the rider lost his iron. He was able to rally to fourth once he and the jockey got back in stride. (1) In a Minute gets blinkers on and drops from three maiden special weights where he showed some early speed with a third-place finish going a mile. (8) King Freud will move from turf to dirt with a speed figure that tops this field. (3) Drinking Solo made a big improvement when he dropped into an open company maiden claimer and ran second.

6th race [Alw 90000 N1X, 7F] – (1) Allaboutthemoney (C) took late money, got to the lead and was beaten by only a neck, and was claimed. (3) Overstep returns from a 10-month layoff after winning both the NY-bred allowance races at Aqueduct. His only loss in four starts was by a half-length in a state-bred stakes race. (2) Power Seeker was a debut winner at Keeneland then had a year layoff, ran third in a $62,500 claimer at the Kentucky track, and was taken by Linda Rice. (5) Ocean’s Reserve won through his NY-bred allowance conditions and since then has a second and third in today’s condition.

9th race [Remsen (G2), 1 1/8 mi] – (7) Sierra Leone (A) raced greenly in the early stages of his debut and once settled he had a powerful closing move last month to get the win. (8) Where’s Chris won the Nashua at Aqueduct last month going a mile with a big jump in speed figures for the red hot barn of Rick Dutrow. (4) Moonlight broke his maiden by eight-lengths after he moved from turf to dirt and then was second in the Street Sense (G3) at Churchill Downs. (3) Dornoch broke his maiden in his third start at Keeneland after running second in the Sapling at Monmouth Park where he had a bad trip.

Best bets: Liberty Central (1st); Sierra Leone (9th). Best value: Seba M (4th); Allaboutthemoney (6th).
