This is a free play on PHI +1.5 -165

The Flyers have quietly won 12 of their last 18 games overall, and they are 16-2 ATS as a puckline underdog in those games. The Devils are 8-4 straight up in their last 12 games, but they are just 3-9 ATS as a puckline favorite during that span. The Flyers are 3-3 straight up in their last six versus New Jersey, but they are 5-1 ATS as a puckline underdog during that span.

Tuesday NHL Free play. My selection is on the 'under' between Columbus and Buffalo at 7:05 pm et on Tuesday.

In this battle of bad teams, I expect goals to come at a premium. Note that the 'under' is 37-19 in the Blue Jackets last 56 games after giving up five goals or more in consecutive games, as is the case here. The Sabres have had a miserable time trying to find the back of the net on home ice this season, averaging just 2.5 goals per game. The 'under' has cashed in 10 of their 14 home contests with those games averaging just 5.4 total goals. When coming off a loss this season, which is the situation on Tuesday, the Sabres have held the opposition to just 2.6 goals per contest. Take the under.

          1* FREE PLAY Carolina-127

Vegas is off the 6-3 home win over Ottawa, but we think it'll have its hands full here with this talented home side. Carolina is for sure the more desperate team here now, having lost two straight in extra time, most recently a 2-1 shootout loss to Washington. This is the first game of the year between the clubs, but we feel that "home ice" will prove to be the difference-maker. With big upcoming games at Tampa and Florida as well, we look for the defending champs to get caught "looking ahead" a bit; consider Carolina on Tuesday night!

            Grizzlies/Pelicans NBA Free Pick

The Memphis Grizzlies are 0-5 SU and ATS in their last five games while the New Orleans Pelicans are 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS in their last six.

All eyes will be on Ja Morant who will make his season debut following a 25-game suspension, but I still like the Pels to win and cover the number.

The Pelicans are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 home games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points.

The Grizzlies are 5-23 ATS in their last 28 games as a road underdog.

              7* NBA Suns/Blazers Free Pick

              PLAY ON: Blazers +7.5

I'll take the 7.5 with the Blazers at home against the Suns. While Portland comes in having lost 7 in a row, this feels like a few too many for Phoenix to be laying on the road. Suns have been awful ATS of late, going just 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games. They barely squeaked out a 112-108 win at home against the Wizards as a 13-point favorite last time out. For all the losing, Blazers have been more competitive of late and are 7-4 ATS in their last 9 games. I like them to keep this one closer than expected. Give me Portland +7.5
