This is a play on the LIBERTY FLAMES-5 for our Wednesday Free Play. Liberty opened the season 6-0 but then went on its first true road game at Florida Atlantic and lost by 25 points to start a 3-3 stretch. This is now just the Flames second true road game and it is a tough spot heading out west in altitude before break but they are the far better team and even with a big home game against Alabama up next, it is not for another 10 days. Liberty rolled through the Atlantic Sun Conference for the last few years and even though this is its first year in Conference USA, the Flames are picked to win it with four returning starters. Utah Valley won the WAC last season with a 15-3 record but this is a complete rebuild. The Wolverines lost their head coach. to California and with that, their top four scorers went into the transfer portal. They are off to a 6-5 start and while that includes a 4-0 record at home, two of those wins were against non-Division 1 teams and while Utah Valley got two solid wins over Weber St. and Seattle, this is the biggest test coming to the UCCU Center. Jack's Free Pick Wednesday: Chicago Bulls +4.5

The Chicago Bulls are quietly playing some of the best basketball in the NBA right now since losing Zach LaVine to injury. They are 6-3 SU & 8-1 ATS in their last nine games overall with the three losses coming by 2 points at Miami, by 4 points at Milwaukee and by 8 points at home to the Nuggets on the 2nd of a back-to-back.

The Bulls upset the 76ers as 10-point road dogs, upset the Bucks as 9.5-point home dogs and upset the Heat as 3.5-point road dogs during this stretch. They are playing great team basketball right now with Coby White quickly emerging as a star. He has scored at least 22 points in eight of their last nine games. Now the Bulls are once again catching too many points at home tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers have had a massive letdown since winning the in-season tournament as they simply have been lacking motivation. They are 1-3 SU & 0-4 ATS in their four games since the tournament with their lone win coming by 3 points at San Antonio. They were also upset by 14 at San Antonio as 6.5-point favorites, upset by the Knicks at home as 5-point favorites and upset by the Mavericks as 2.5-point favorites.

Chicago is 24-11 ATS in its last 35 games off an upset win as an underdog. Bet the Bulls Wednesday.

Wednesday CBB Free play. My selection is on the 'under' between Alabama and Arizona at 11 pm et on Wednesday.

While this game certainly has 'track meet' potential, I simply feel the lofty total will prove too high. Alabama checks in off consecutive losses. Of course, those defeats came against two of the best teams in the nation in Purdue and Creighton. The Crimson Tide's issues lie at the defensive end of the floor and that's where you have to figure they'll look to turn things around on Wednesday. Arizona checks in off a loss of its own against Purdue. The Wildcats matador-like defense didn't cut it against the Boilermakers and it won't against the Crimson Tide either. We know the Wildcats can perform better at that end of the floor as they've held Duke to 73 points, Michigan State to 68 points and Wisconsin to 73 points this season. In order to topple a total this high, both teams need to go off offensively. I just don't see it happening here. Take the under.
