PICKS NOTES
#9 Cowes Thought he would show a little bit better in that dirt stakes spot last out, but the move back to the turf might be enough to give him a fighting chance. Hoping for a well-timed spying trip like the debut run.
#2 Hidden Class Can't blame them for trying the main track with her last out, but she's back to what she does best while facing the boys. She didn't miss by much in stakes company a couple starts back, and she's a threat to get past these late.
#4 Aspenite He has some pace and has already showed some ability when graduating in stakes company at Kentucky Downs, but I worry that he has needed the lead so far, and this sharper trip might give him some company early.
Race Summary Cowes wasn't embarrassed in a stakes spot at Keeneland a couple starts back that produced some Breeders' Cup starters, and I think he stacks up well with these if you'll forgive the dirt try last out.

Fair Grounds - Race #7
PICKS NOTES
#5 Hidden Connection Think she's supposed to be a handful in here while dropping out of a string of almost exclusively graded stakes tries over the last year, and she has some positional pace that might keep her in a great spying spot. Lots to like.
#2 The Alys Look Her better stuff from last season kept her in good company, and she found some life last out when getting class relief at Churchill. Think this is a logical building block to a nice season.
#1 Corningstone She's a little questionable on class in open stakes company like this, but she wasn't far behind The Alys Look last out and should be in a cozy spot while tucked inside.
Race Summary Hidden Connection can probably be tough if she gets back to one of her better starts from this season, and she rolled home the last time she got her feet over the local course.

Fair Grounds - Race #8
PICKS NOTES
#11 Microphone He'll go third off the break after failing to pick up with anything serious in that last one, and I'm hoping he'll be a touch more tactical this time around. Price should be better to see if he can get back to his better baseline.
#9 Sailing Solo The guy he beat last out was sharp in his follow up, and I like that this one showed some ability to settle and finish when he had previously been at his best on the engine. Not impossible right back.
#2 Kentucky Ghost Worry that he might be a little overbet for this team, but he didn't have much of a chance last out when the winner controlled things almost the whole way. Not really for me, but he makes sense on paper.
Race Summary Microphone was a no-show at 9/2 last time out, but I'm expecting better on both accounts today as he makes his third start off the break. Something like the 10/1 ML price would be plenty appealing.
