PICKS NOTES
#2 M Eighty I have a mild worry about him ending up taking heat from the forward players drawn further outside, but I like the way he moved up in that second career start and think he might still have some upside. Interesting enough if he can work out a trip.
#6 Poker Partner Pace player can be tough after proving a good fit with the locals last time out, but I wonder if there is just enough pace to keep him honest -- he's not known for fighting back when headed.
#5 Moonlight Joker He might find a pretty decent spot while spying the pace, but I imagine he will find one or two of them a bit too tough today. Worth a spot in the gimmicks.
Race Summary M Eighty took a big step in the right direction at second asking, and he can be dangerous with these if he is able to relax just a touch behind more committed pace players.

Mahoning Valley - Race #7
PICKS NOTES
#6 Zero Gravity Reliable late runner has better form that it looks at first asking with four recent underneath efforts behind tough customers Runaway Harry and Knight's Cross. Company line play can score.
#5 Come See About It He got pretty good here last winter and might have some room to come forward off the last one, and his better stuff makes him as good as any in this group.
#1 Star Hawk He wouldn't be any surprise with this bunch while bringing pretty reliable form, but he has so far lacked that final bit of punch needed to get home. Underneath again?
Race Summary Zero Gravity figures to be on the move late, and he has been keeping better company than a lot of these in some of those recent starts. Think he'll get past these.

Mahoning Valley - Race #9
PICKS NOTES
#11 Lotsa Matcha He ran a really good one here last season when graduating in his second start, and I'm hoping he'll produce a similarly big effort today while making his second start of the back half of the year. Trip might be there.
#6 C V Jersey Bee His form has come to life on the main track, and he posted a $50 upset on the rise with the locals last out. Don't think he's overmatched if he can hold that form or even step up a bit again.
#8 I'm Him Not sure quite what to do with him while entered to try winners at first asking, but he's bringing a fairly reliable and quick set of works with him to this first start. Take a look.
Race Summary Decent lean to Lotsa Matcha in the finale, as he probably doesn't have to come forward a whole lot today to stay in the mix at a midrange price.

Race Summary Five of the seven entrants broke their maiden in wire-to-wire fashion recently. JAYDYN CAT showed marked improvement when she overcame a troubled start and post 11 to won from just off the pace. 1st race [Md 50000, 1 mi] – (8) Just Magic was second in a maiden special weight two races back, then tried the turf with lackluster results, and now drops into the claiming ranks for the first time. (5) Cha Cha Chukka was third and then fourth in a pair of maiden special weights at Delaware Park for Rudy Rodriguez. (1) By the Glass was well bet in both of her starts and ran well for Rick Dutrow. (2) Union Belle was claimed for $40,000 last time when fourth and the blinkers go on.

4th race [OC62k/N2X, 1 1/8 mi] – (5) Just Katherine drops back to allowance competition after trying a pair of graded stakes races. (6) Into Happiness had a three race winnings streak in the summer and was second at this allowance level last month. (1) Amanda’s Folly won a NY-bred stakes race last time which was her fourth victory since April when Linda Rice claimed her. (3) Sweet Willemina will ship up from Parx once again with her 17 career wins.

7th race [NY, Bay Ridge, 1 mi] – (2) Fingal’s Cave returns from a 14 month layoff after a 3-year-old campaign that included four wins and a second from five starts with a Grade 2 second and a state-bred stakes score. (3) Venti Valentine was third in a Grade 3 last time and is a multiple NY-bred stakes winner. (6) Know It All Audrey has a stellar record at Aqueduct of 16: 7-5-1 and won the Empire Distaff last time out. (5) Bustin Bay is another veteran mare that has a great record at the Big A.

8th race [NY, Md 30000, 1 mi] – (1) Handle On You drops into a maiden claimer for the first time with a second-place finish in October. (4) Love Like Crazy was fourth in her debut earlier in the month for Linda Rice. (6) Dame Catherine had the lead in last race at this level for a trainer that has been doing very well with maidens lately. (7) Mia Nipotina was third last time in her first start for a tag.
