She has solid class ratings, averaging 87, and has to be considered for this event. POSITIVE CARRY (IRE) - Can't overlook the connections here, a 28 winning percentage, one of the best at getting into the winner's circle. Is a sharp contender based on numbers put up lately under today's conditions.

I give the nod to GOLIAD here. Has to be given consideration against this field displaying strong figures as of late and an average speed figure of 106 under similar conditions. With a strong jockey who has won at a quite good 17 percent rate over the last 30 days. This has to be one of the top picks. Kimura will probably be able to get this gelding to break out quickly for this event. CROSBY BEACH - With one of the strongest jockeys in terms of dividends at the window, don't count this gelding out. With a very strong 109 Equibase speed fig last time out, will definitely be a factor in this contest. CASTLE LEOCH - Win percentage one of the top in this field. Should be carefully examined - I like the figs from the last contest.

Look for a chance at a big improvement from the most recent race on the grass. CAVU - The last speed fig of 76 is the highest last race rating in the group. I always like to see a filly getting Lasix for the second time. This one fits the bill. BRODERIE - Rios rode this racer for the first time in the last race and comes right back today. I expect a big performance from this filly today. She ran a huge race at big odds when she made her debut on Aug 5th. Can't help but like the 2nd time addition of Lasix by the trainer today. That indicates to me Abreu thinks she can win.

STREET CHARITY - Not probable for this horse to make an impact with no recent success in a short distance contest. SUPER SPIN - Difficult to take this questionable contender at the price after the result (fourth) in the last event. MARILYN - You always believe this horse has a shot to win, but she falters often. Finished third in her most recent effort with a somewhat easily forgotten speed figure. When I look at today's class figure, it would take an improved performance to prove victorious after that in this field.

HIPPODROME - Trainer Ginter moves this animal down in class to face a lower class of horses. Look for a strong race racing against these lower level horses. STORMING CHROME - Toledo and McKenzie perform well when they combine forces. It's hard to beat a +98 ROI for a jock and conditioner. A horse coming back this quickly after a nice race is a good signal. GAMBLING TZAR - This gelding is in good physical condition. Ran third on December 16th. Rosado rode this animal for the initial time last time out and comes right back this time around. The 80 latest race speed figure looks mighty good in the TrackMaster PPs. The improved speed ratings over the last three races is solid. Morici drops him in this event ready to go.

ROAN BURGUNDY - This gelding hasn't been showing me anything in the last couple of races. BEL AMI - Equibase speed figures on the turf point to this entrant as a legit contender. Has the best in the field for this dist-surf. He'll most likely come from deep to circle the field and should be in fabulous shape to be the winner. There's something to be said for a change of surface. Last race this equine didn't like the terrain, but if you look two back on the inner turf at Belmont Park, there was a great effort. I look for that again today.

SOLOMON VANDY - This gelding likely won't be really close at the wire. REGIMENTAL - This mount didn't do much last time finishing sixth. No reason to expect any improvement in today's event. ACTIVE DUTY - Didn't hit the board on November 22nd at Churchill Downs. Followed it up with another lackluster outing. The speed fig in the last race doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the class figure of today's race. Mark this horse as a questionable contender.

A MAJOR OMEN - Has the look of a profitable play, averaging a rather good 86 speed fig. That 82 speed rating clocked in the most recent gathering puts this nice horse in the mix this time. RAGGED BUT RIGHT - When the starter calls, nice horses coming out of the 5 post have more wins than normal. Could very likely dominate this group given the 83 speed rating achieved in his most recent outing.
