PICKS NOTES
#1 Practically Dark Debuter brings a best-of-15 work with him into this, and maybe he has enough speed to control the tempo from the inside in a spot where those with experience have not shown much serious pace. He and the other firster drawn out wide might have the first battle today.
#6 Champlin He's another going first out with a positive enough string of works ahead of this, and I'm guessing he'll try to show some pace from out here. Take a look on the track.
#4 Bettera He's back off the long break after turning in a couple of races that might be better than they look. Worried the price will get short for a team that has struggled in this kind of spot over the last year and change.
Race Summary Practically Dark and Champlin both have similar appeal while making their respective career debuts, so get a look at both of them on the track and tote ahead of this. Wouldn't be surprised to see one of them land this.

Fair Grounds - Race #8
PICKS NOTES
#10 Present Moment Thought we'd see a bit better from her last time out when getting the local footing for the first time, but I'm willing to give her another look at what should be a midrange price. She's capable of better.
#12 Princess Fawzia She'll need some scratch help to get in, but she's got pretty reliable form that fits well here if she gets to run. Dangerous if she can avoid too wide a trip from out here if she goes.
#6 Russian Mafia Was pretty tempted to put her on top at what should be a big price, but I'd definitely want to have her covered on my plays. She ran a couple races here last season that would keep her in the frame with these, and the winner of her last was an extremely impressive next-out stakes winner.
Race Summary I also have a little bit of interest in #4 Granato as she stretches around two turns on the drop out of stakes company. Present Moment and Russian Mafia are the two I prefer in the main body, and Princess Fawzia gets a big look if she goes.

Fair Grounds - Race #9
PICKS NOTES
#1 Betonya Small, low-confidence swing in a finale that lacks any form to get excited about, so I'm willing to see if she can wake up at a big number while dropping to the bottom for the first time.
#3 Carolina Jacy She has already shown a bit of enthusiasm for running on late, and she didn't miss by too much when facing this kind of group in the same common race as the next one.
#6 Brielle Evangeline She was almost a pretty quick study when trying this level for the first time in the late December spot, and she is fast enough to find another decent spot. Wouldn't be a surprise.
Race Summary If your stronger opinions sit elsewhere, I'd probably want to have #4 Nicely Unified covered with logical and consistent recent form, but it's tough to be too excited about her with no obvious upside at this point.

Race Summary CAPO SORELLA showed speed throughout California and should be long gone on the class drop for her new connections. She was passed by a 2-1 winner, 3-2 winner and 3-to-5 runner-up in her last three main track sprints. Bet to win and place.

#5 MR. T’S THIRSTY (5-1) Tired going a route of ground, lone sprint try in the past year was a good one.
#2 SATANTA (9-5) Romped for $8k two back but ‘did not immediately respond’ when asked in latest.
#4 LESSONS OF AUTISM (4-1) Found blinkers of little help but held steady sprint form, nonetheless.
Race Summary MR. T’S THIRSTY set the pace for 6F before tiring in a pair of recent long-distance tests. The last time he sprinted, he broke slowly and to up to finish third at 6-1/2F behind Durante (7-25, $486k), who came back to win the Grade 3 Bold Ruler Stakes at Belmont. Bet to win and place.
