      Fazzini
Tuesday's play 15 Dime -- Mariners (Hernandez) over TIGERS (Porcello)

      MARINERS
NOTE: List only Hernandez as Seattle's starting pitcher

King Felix has been good to me this year, and I'm going to go with him again today -- and with good reason.

Hernandez (12-4, 2.72 ERA) is contending for the Cy Young Award, and one of the reasons has been his performance on the road. The right-hander is 8-1 with an AL-best 1.96 ERA in 13 road starts, and Seattle has won his last eight outings away from home.

Hernandez also is 5-0 with a 3.45 ERA in his last five starts against Detroit. He already has beaten the Tigers twice this season, allowing four runs in 13 innings, and gave up one run and six hits in seven innings in his last outing against them.

Detroit starter Rick Porcello (10-7, 4.34) should be ready to go after serving a five-game suspension for beaning Boston's Kevin Youkilis. The rookie has not been very good at home, however, with a 4.92 ERA in 10 starts at Comerica Park, even though he has a 5-3 record there.

The right-hander is 2-0 with a 4.50 ERA in two outings against the Mariners this year. He allowed five runs and nine hits in five innings in his last start against them, on July 21.

Seattle has won 11 of Hernandez's last 12 starts overall. I think the beat goes on today. Take the Mariners in this one.

8:05 PM -- Rangers Ballpark in Arlington
TEXAS RANGERS (67-50) -160 over Minnesota Twins (56-62) Pitching for Texas: RH Scott Feldman (12-4, 3.90) Pitching for Minnesota: RH Carl Pavano (10-9, 5.16) Rangers Trend Profile: Last 10: 7-3, Streak: Won 3, Home Record: 40-22, Against RHP: 42-32. Twins Trend Profile: Last 10: 3-7, Streak: Lost 3, Road Record: 23-35, Against RHP: 38-38. Starting Time: 8:05 TV: Fox Sports North, Fox Sports Southwest Comments: Texas heads the American League race for the wild-card spot in the playoffs and is another team playing its best baseball right now. The Rangers come into this game going for their fourth straight win and stand 5-1 in their last six outings. On the mound for Texas will be Scott Feldman who stands 3-0 with an E.R.A. of 3.32 in his last three starts and 7-2 with an E.R.A. of 3.75 in his last 10 starts. Of Equal importance is the fact the team magic is there, illustrated by the fact Texas is 8-2 in his those last 10 starts. Minnesota starter Carl Pavano has pitched well in his two starts since being acquired from Cleveland but my money says he is going to have his troubles against the big bats of Texas, including that of Josh Hamilton who in his last seven games is hitting .536, with five doubles, five runs scored and seven runs battled in that time frame.
Partly cloudy. Winds blowing in from center field at 5-15 m.p.h. Game-time temperature: Around 95.

                              Pick: Marlins -109

Florida is 27-9 their last 36 games as favorites and they are 6-1 their last 7 games vs. righty starters. The Marlins are 9-4 their last 13 road games and they are 6-1 their last 7 games with the Astros. Starting Pitcher Ricky Nolasco is 13-5 vs. losing teams. Houston starter Bud Norris is off a phony win in his last start where he allowed twice as many baserunners as innings pitched and still came away with a win. He won't be so lucky tonight as the Astros are 5-13 following a day off and they are 3-11 their last 14 Tuesday games.
