Brett Atkins Friday 15 Dime Baseball Money Maker - LOS ANGELES ANGELS

While Angels’ lefty Joe Saunders has struggled to find his form this season, he does have some very good numbers against the A’s, leading the Angels to wins in seven of his last 10 starts against them. He was damn solid on Saturday in Seattle, holding the Mariners to one run on five hits in a 4-3 win. The Angels are on streaks of 27-10 when he gets a full five days of rest, 25-9 when he pitches the series opener and 14-6 when he pitches on Friday. Dallas Braden, he of perfect game fame, is back on the hill for the A’s but history has shown that guys coming back after a perfect game don’t fare so well, going 2-2 with a 4.85 ERA in the following start. And on the road this season, Braden is 1-1 with an 8.10 ERA. I’ll play the Angels in this one at home.

5 Dime Baseball Road Warrior - LOS ANGELES DODGERS

This is a big series for the Dodgers as they head down the freeway to San Diego to take on the red-hot Padres. San Diego’s formula for winning seems very shaky to say the least. The Padres have got to get perfect pitching to win games as they just don’t have the offense that is going to make it easy. Their bullpen is good, but the offense of the Dodgers is better. The likes of Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, James Loney and Casey Blake have the skills to carry this game and beat the Padres. John Garland is on the hill for the Padres, and while he’s been near perfect lately, the Dodgers will have the answers for him. Ramon Ortiz makes his first start since 2007 and this guy is a savvy veteran who knows how to pitch. He’ll keep the Dodgers in it and the offense will do the rest. Play the plus-money with the Dodgers.

Jay McNeil Friday's winner ... 10 Dime Padres -- (minus the money vs. Los Angeles)

PADRES -- The Friars looked good in sweeping a key three-game series with the Giants the last three days, while concluding their recent road trip 5-1 and come home to open a five-game stretch at PETCO Park, where they have a 2.01 ERA.

And for as well the Padres have been playing to start the season, there's nothing like some home cooking against arch-rivals to run up the division lead.

While the Dodgers have lost nine of their last 11 as an underdog, the Padres are on winning runs of 6-2 as a home favorite and 19-7 overall.

Lay the cheap chalk at home.

Joel Tyson Friday's Selections .... Don't get why Milwaukee is favorcd over Philadelphia tonight?

The Brewers were just blasted in their latest 3-game home set against the Braves, losing all 3 of those games, and now they must face the National League champion Phillies.

I know Jamie Moyer is as old as the wheel, but he has sure looked good his last couple of times to the bump, and I can see him turneing in a solid 6 innings in tonight's start for the Phils.

Randy Wolf has allowed 7 runs over his last 11 innings for a 1-1 mark, and his last start against the Phillies saw him allow 6 runs in 6 innings for a loss last July.

Philly is too good to be installed as the underdog to a 15-19 team. Jump on this one early before we start to lose line value.

20 dime dog on Philadelphia over Milwaukee this evining at Miller Park.

Your 10 dime bonus best bet is to ride the Braves to win their 4th in a row, and hand the D-Backs their 7th straight loss.

Atlanta got their offense back in stride in sweeping Milwaukee earlier this week, and now they are back at home where they are 8-4 for the season.

Arizona just got swept at home against the Dodgers, and they are only 7-10 on the road for the year.

Ian Kennedy certainly rates the edge right now over the winless Kenshin Kawakami, but Kawakami is not going to lose every game he starts this year, is he?

Take the Braves for a 10 dime winner.

PLEASE NOTE: listed pitchers must start, or NO action on the release(s).

Matt Rivers Friday's Action 200,000? Winner on the ST. LOUIS CARDINALS over the Cincinnati Reds with Jaime Garcia as the listed pitcher. If Garcia does not start, this play is VOID.

      200,000?

CARDINALS (With Garcia as listed pitcher)

Take the Cards for the road win over the Reds.

I love this Garcia kid. The rookie has pitched at least six innings in each of his six starts, giving up one or zero runs in five of them.

      The left-hander has a 1.18 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 38 innings.

Cincinnati will counter with Aaron Harang, who has lost three straight starts to the Cardinals, including two this year.

The right-hander is 7-12 in his career with a 4.57 ERA against St. Louis.

With the Cardinals struggling and the Reds playing great right now this would seem to be an easy choice siding with Cincinnati. But the Reds were beating up on the lowly Pirates and the Cardinals were beating themselves against the Astros.

Look for St. Louis to rebound tonight behind its talented rookie.

Take the Cardinals for the road win.

      Michael Cannon Friday's Plays...
25 Dime Winner on the TEXAS RANGERS over the Toronto Blue Jays with Rich Harden as the listed pitcher. If Harden does not start, this play is VOID.

10 Dime Winner on the OAKLAND A's over the LA Angels with Dallas Braden as the listed pitcher. If Braden does not start, this play is VOID.

      25 Dime –

RANGERS (With Harden as listed pitcher)

Take the Rangers for the road win over the Blue Jays.

Texas is playing solid baseball right now and will be getting a big addition to its lineup tonight.

Nelson Cruz is expected to be activated off the DL after being out since April 26 with a hamstring injury. Cruz homered seven times in his first 11 games.

Rich Harden will get the start for the Rangers and he’s 2-0 with a 2.82 ERA over his last four starts, and Texas has won all four of those games.

This is a good time for the Rangers to be facing the Blue Jays on the road because Vernon Wells and Aaron Hill are both slumping right now.

Wells is in an 0-for-12 slump and Hill is mired in a 2-for-28 slide.

Harden has the stuff to keep those guys from breaking out.

Take the Rangers as they grab the road win.

      10 Dime –

A’s (With Braden as listed pitcher)

Take the A’s for the road win over the Angels.

Dallas Braden gets the start for Oakland and he’s coming off a perfect game in his last outing over Tampa Bay.

While I’m not expecting another gem like that, I am reasonably confident he’ll outpitch Joe Saunders.

Saunders is 1-5 with a 6.19 ERA on the year for the Angels. The left-hander hasn’t been able to find his form this year and I expect the A’s to knock him around.

The Angels are also one of the lighter-hitting teams in the AL, so if Saunders doesn’t give them a quality start they really don’t stand a chance.

Take the A’s as they grab the road win.

dime bet 956 FLA (-133) BetUS vs 955 NYM
Analysis: You know sometimes when you just get that feeling..?? Well that's kinda what I'm feeling about the Florida Marlins right now. They've got a three game set against a team that really struggles to hit on the road in the NY Mets, and they follow it up with a three game set at home against Arizona, another team that is less than average away from home. Great opportunity here for Florida to make a run. It all starts at home, and I absolutely love Florida at home today, coming off a win last night, against a Mets lineup that will struggle on the road all year long, and a starting pitcher that will struggle to find the zone more often than not.

Oliver Perez takes he mound for the Mets tonight, and if there is one guy that epitomizes wild, it's this guy. Time and time again we see him out by the 5th inning, even when he's pitching well, because his pitch count is so high. This is a guy that can walk 4 guys in an inning without even blinking. That being said, he does have nasty stuff when he's in the zone. It's tough to predict what he'll do tonight. The Umpire is a guy, Jeff Nelson, who is a pretty fair ump. Last season he had a small strike zone, and as a result, the majority of his games went OVER. However, his three year history shows a larger strike zone than average and the majority of his games going UNDER. Point being, with a large sample size, the guy looks pretty fair, or if anything he's shrunk his strike zone over the years which definitely DOES NOT benefit Perez.

Anibal Sanchez is on the mound for Florida. He's kind of a poor man's Oliver Perez actually. He has great stuff, but can be a little wild. Difference is, Anibal keeps it at least semi in check. Between the two guys, both of them can walk people like crazy, but from a betting stand point. Anibal is SAFER.

And quite frankly, when it comes to starting pitching in this game, all we can ask for is the safer bet. Because every other factor I expect to go the way of the Marlins. I think their lineup is primed to provide tons of pop over the next five days, I think their bullpen is pitching a lot better, especi€ally their late inning guys. And I think that Mets bullpen that has performed so well will begin to falter. Keep in mind, almost every single guy in that Mets pen is pitching in his first major league season. Their combined stats were so solid because nobody had seen them! Now that the league starts to compile scouting reports on these guys, you'll start to see some league-wide success against that Mets Pen. We saw them lose the game in extras last night, and I expect the Mets pen to falter about this evening as well.

Then again, I don't think it will matter, because the last thing Oliver wants to do is throw strikes to a lineup with 5 homerun hitters... And that means it'll be another walk fest folks!

        Florida 1.99/1.5!
