Analysis: The Giants are hot, and they certainly need to be! The Padres are continuing to play well, and really trying to run away with the division. San Francisco not only has to worry about the Padres, but they've gotta worry about sustaining their short lead on the Dodgers. They've won both series' since the All-Star Break, and now head to Arizona, for what should be another great opportunity to win two out of three. Tonight, specifically, offers a good winning opportunity for the Giants, in my opinion.

Matt Cain takes the hill for the Giants, and there is no doubt that his losing road record is a bit scary. But in most cases his losses come due to a lack of run support rather than a lack of effort success on his part. The guy has decent success against the DBacks in his career, and most importantly, the team is hitting right now.

Rodrigo Lopez is a guy that has definitely had his ups and downs this season, but all in all, there is no way he's near Cain's level. Especially considering the fact that in his only two appearances against the Giants over the last five seasons, he's been rocked both times.

The Arizona bullpen went through an exhausting 14 inning debacle last night, and although they won the game, it will certainly be tough for them to bounceback tonight and do it all over again. The Bullpen in Arizona is bad as it is, taking them after a 14 inning game seems ideal.

          Giants 2 units!

                Matchup: Minnesota at Baltimore
                Time: 7:05 PM EDT (Thu)
Listed pitchers must go: (R) PAVANO, C vs. (R) MILLWOOD, K

                Play: Minnesota (ML -154)

Kevin Millwood has a 11.45 ERA in his last 3 starts as he faces off against Carl Pavano and the Twins. Pavano is 5-3 with a 3.46 ERA on the road this season and takes on an Orioles squad that have dropped 5 of 6. Pavano has a big advantage with the help behind him, as the Twins bullpen sports a 2.88 ERA. Minnesota is the play.

                            Pittsburgh Pirates +145

The Pirates have been a decent team at home. If you compared to how bad they have played on the road, it is night and day. Pittsburgh has scored 26 runs in the last two nights. Although Ohlendorf is not having a good year if you look at his record, he is really a decent pitcher and definitely not as bad as his 1-8 record indicates. Yovani Gallardo has pitched well for the Brewers but Milwaukee is just average on the road and I give the edge to the home team getting money. Take the Pirates.
