Re: 8-11-10

10* SF Giants -1.5
For a number of different reasons I believe the value in this contest is the Giants on the "run line":
Tom Gorzelanny heads to the hill for the visitors; Gorzelanny is coming off a 3-0 loss on Friday vs. the Reds.
Although he's pitched very well since coming back from the IL, and even though he's had success against the Giants in the past, I believe this is a classic letdown spot and expect him to struggle on the road in this late PST time zone game.
Also remember that the Cubs are just 2-11 their last 13 overall; just 1-6 their last seven on the road.
In the other dugout: Barry Zito gets the nod for the home side; Zito pitched well enough in his last outing to get a victory, but had to settle for a no decision; he had ten K's, walked two over seven frames.
He's allowed just eight runs over his last 27 2/3's innings of work.
The Giants are 4-1 their last five in front of the home town crowd; 10-4 (+3.8 units) as a home favorite in the -150 to -175 range; also most importantly 11-2 (+8.9 units) when playing against a team with a losing record in the second half of the season.
Bottom line: The Cubs of course are coming off that satisfying and rare road victory last night; suffice to say I expect a letdown this evening.
The Giants are desperate for a big showing as they are now tied with the Reds atop the wild-card standings and are now 2 1/2 games behind San Diego in the NL West.
