    dime bet 960 FLA (+100) Bookmaker.com vs 959 PHI
Analysis: Simply too much sharp money to ignore for my taste buds. A lot like the A's, Florida is super-streaky and we've potentially got them on the upswing, at home, and against an over valued Phillies team. After yesterday's comeback in Texas and Lee's meltdown in Toronto (and then a long flight to South Florida) I think this IS a spot where we can back a team in the first game back.

I'll finish the specifics in a bit....when Florida goes on streaks, they REALLY go on streaks, and they've score 25 runs in the last four games against a decent set of starting pitchers, and also on the road. I do like Vance Worley, but here's the deal. The kids came from the bullpen and has now thrown over 100 pitches in his last two starts. And, of his 42 innings pitched this season, only 12 of them have come on the road, and in those 12 innings he's allowed his only two jacks as well as 18 "other" hits. Add to that the fact that the Marlins have seen him before, and most of the "regulars" who we'd need to hit have had hits. At least enough for me to pull the trigger.

Nolasco hasn't been a prize, but what he has done, for the most part, is keep the ball in the park. The fact that the wind should be blowing in from center won't hurt his chances of continuing to do that.

I am not enamored with the Florida bullpen lately, but the Phillies relievers have not necessarily been lights-out, either.

I really just think the situation calls for a play on the Fish offense against Worley and the travel of the Phillies, who in addition to a long flight had to go through Customs as well. So, so far we have two home teams at even money, give or take, and that's just how I spread the risk around and what keeps us from ever having the brutal days, save the f'n Astros.

          4 UNIT PLAY

WASHINGTON -140 over Chicago (NL): Until this past series with the Pirates the Nat's had been one of the best home teams in the league. They have still won 12 of their last 16 on their own field and are 24-15 on the year at home. Zimmerman has been tough for the Nats of late, posting an 0.84 ERA in his last 3 starts and he owns a solid 3.44 ERA at home, despite a 2-4 mark. The Nats just haven't given him much run support, but they should score some runs today. Casey Coleman has struggled, going 2-4 on the year with a 7.78 ERA and in his last 3 starts he is just 1-2 with a 9.53 ERA, so I really look for the Nats bats to come alive and give some run support to Zimmerman. Washington gets back on track.

          3 UNIT PLAY

BOSTON -130 over Toronto: John Lackey has not been that great for the Sox this year as he is just 5-7 with a 6.81 ERA on the year, but he is coming off his best performance of the year in a 2-1 loss to the Phils. The Sox offense has done very well vs Jays pitching this year as they have scored 7.9 rpg in this series. Back in early June the Sox outscored the Jays 35-7 in the 3 game set and in he last 3 games played here (April) Boston outscored them by a 21-3 count. Lackey did face Morrow back in June and won the game 16-4. Morrow is 1-2 vs Lackey with a 17.10 ERA in 3 starts vs Lackey and he is 1-1 with a 14.04 ERA in 2 starts vs the Sox. Lackey does have a 6.23 ERA in his last 5 starts vs the Jays, but my feeling here is that the Boston offense is what will carry this team to a win in a high scoring game.

          2 UNIT PLAY

Philadelphia -106 over FLORIDA: Ok Handicapping 101 states that you stay away from your fav teams. I normally follow that rules but every once in a while I break it. When I was with pregame before I picked my spots on the Phils and hit 75% of the plays. Vance Worley is a tough kid and I predict that he will become he Phils next Cole Hamels. The Marlins are 6-24 in heir last 30 games, while the Phils have won 21 of their last 28 in this series. This is a great spot for me to take my Phils.

                  Washington Nationals -140

The Nationals have been on a good run this season and are a better team than Chicago. I like the way Jordan Zimmermann has been pitching (allowing only 2 earned runs in his last 21 innings). Its the 4th of July in our nations capital and expect the home team to get a big win for the fans. Take Washington.

30 Dime baseball selection on the Pirates as a home favorite against the Astros. At the time I release this winner, Pittsburgh is a -130 to -135 chalk acrooss the board both here in Vegas and offshore. Note that you must list Paul Maholm as Pittsburgh’s staroing pitcher. If Maholm doesn’t pitch, this play is VOID!

CHW -150: Sox have not been great at plate but won't matter with ACE Mark Buehrle (6-5, 3.65 ERA), looking to win his fifth straight decision at home. He has a 2.68 ERA in seven starts at U.S. Cellular Field this season. Even better the bats should heat up against Francis who has lost 3 straight with a 7 + ERA in that stretch. 5 star play

PHI -106: what great value on a young and upcoming pitcher, Worley is 3-0 in last three starts with a sub 2 ERA. Nolasco goes for FLA and even though he was great last start he rarely gets more than 2 runs in support. PHI on other hand can really rake and will get at least 4 runs for Worley tonight. 4 1/2 star play
