The Reds and Braves have split the first two games of this series, with Cincinnati winning big on Saturday, 11-2. The Reds put 10 runs together in two innings to cruise to the win. The run outburst was a welcome site for the Reds considering they had produced just 11 runs in their previous six games combined along with a .195 batting average. Brandon Beachy will start for the Braves with a 3-2 record and 3.75 ERA. The 24-year old righthander was hit hard last time out, giving up six earned runs in just 4 2/3 innings. Donte Willis makes his third start for the Reds. While WIllis doesn't have a win, he hasn't pitched badly either, allowing four earned runs over 10 2/3 innings. I don't trust either of these pitchers. Beachy has enough starts on the season where I won't let one bad outing sway me. Willis, I'm not convinced yet he is in a comeback mode. I'm taking Beachy tonight and the Braves as I see the young pitcher rebound with another good outing.
