              $3000.00 #417 Pittsburgh (-3.5) over Arizona (4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23)
This is a play from my 411 System and is my Game of the Week.
I like the Steelers to take care of business here. Arizona is back to being Arizona. They are one of the worst teams in the league. Pittsburgh was great against Tennessee and then great at the start of the game against Jacksonville before they called off the dogs. They don’t want to lose any more ground to Baltimore and the Steelers should be on an upswing. Arizona was blown out at Minnesota before their bye week and they were down 28-0 in the first quarter of that game. The Cardinals will have a hard time slowing down the running game of the Steelers and I think that Pittsburgh will push this team around like they usually do. Pittsburgh is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team that is below .500 and the Cardinals are just 3-7 ATS as an underdog. Arizona is just 6-14 ATS in its last 20 games overall and I don’t think that they will win or cover the number in this game.

              $800.00 #405 San Diego (-1.5) over New York Jets (1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23)
This play is from my 411 System.
There has been a little war of words going on between the coaches of these teams this year. I think that works to the advantage of San Diego and I think it will give them an extra bit of motivation this week. The Chargers have had two weeks to rest and prepare for this game and I think that they will play well. The number on this game opened with the Jets as a favorite but now the line has swung all the way to the other side. That says a lot to me as there is big money on SD this weekend. I will follow that line movement. This is usually the time of the year that the Chargers start to pick things up and I expect them to win a shootout here.

              $800.00 #402 Tampa Bay (+1.5) over Chicago (1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23)
This play is from my 411 System.
The Bucs bounced back with an excellent effort against New Orleans last week. I expect it to carry over. Tampa just moved into first place in their division and I don’t think they will want to give that spot up. This is a good young team with a lot of talent and they will take advantage of a Bears team that has been bad away from home. The Bears are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games while the Bucs have won four of five games outright. This one will be close and it will come down to quarterback play late. And Tampa’s Josh Freeman has proven that he is better at taking care of the ball than Chicago’s Jay Cutler.

              $600.00 #409 Houston (+3) over Tennessee (1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23)
Houston has lost both of its games without Andre Johnson. But that game at Baltimore last week was much closer than the final score looked. This Texans team has faced a tough schedule and they will be very focused for one of their biggest games yet. This game will determine who is in first place in the AFC South and I think that since Houston is the better team they will rise to the top. Tennessee is an OK team off to a nice start. But they are better as an underdog and are 3-7 ATS when laying points. Houston beat the same Pittsburgh team that blew out Tennessee before the bye. They are better on offense and defense and I think that the public is going to get buried when the Texans win this one outright.

              $400.00 Take #407 Seattle (+3) over Cleveland (1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23)
The Seahawks have been one of the worst road teams in football over the last few years. But they have had two weeks to prepare here and they should be able to take advantage of a Browns team that is 1-7 ATS in its last eight games. Seattle was good enough to go on the road and beat a good Giants team two weeks ago. They have an underrated defense and they are getting better quarterback play than Cleveland right now. The Browns have gone 0-7 ATS in their last seven home games and they will not have much of a home field advantage. I think that the wrong team is favored here and I will be surprised if the Seahawks don’t win this game outright

“1 UNIT” NFL SYSTEM TOTAL (Seahawks at Browns OVER 41 in a 1:00 eastern kickoff): This total has been kept in check since Cleveland is coming off a season-low 268 yard offensive performance a week ago, while quarterback Colt McCoy ranks way down at #27 leaguewide in completion percentage (55.8). In addition the Browns top rushing threat Peyton Hillis is dealing with both hamstring and contractual problems. On the other side of the football Seattle has to turn to reserve quarterback Charlie Whitehurst due to injury problems that will keep Tarvaris Jackson sidelined. But the fact of the matter is that both teams involved in today’s contest are proponents of the “west coast” offense and in the last pair of appearances the Seattle offense has put a grand total of 64 points on the scoreboard. Most reading this analysis will remember the last start made by Whitehurst which was the final regular season contest of the 2010 season (NBC Sunday Night) which vaulted the Seahawks into the playoffs. Getting back to Cleveland the team last Sunday played below the total even though they played without their top defensive back. Left cornerback Joe Haden (knee) is listed as a question mark and last week on the road the Browns had to turn to rookie Buster Skrine at the left cornerback position. As mentioned earlier quarterback Colt McCoy has a low completion percentage but that is partly because he is on pace to set an all-time Browns franchise record for pass attempts in a single season. Turning to the database Seattle is 11-2 OVER/ROAD long term when coming off a “bye” week and also 6-0 OVER the number after three consecutive games where the defense permitted 400+ total yards. Here is a solid 72-PERCENT SYSTEM (39-15 past decade) which takes poor defensive teams like Seattle who have permitted 25+ points in consecutive contests OVER the total, against a weak offensive opponent who has put “17 or less” points on the scoreboard in three consecutive contests

Chicago Bears -1 and UNDER 44

                    Washington Redskins +3

                    Tennessee Titans -3

                    Minnesota Vikings +9

Denver Broncos +1 at Miami Dolphins:

There may be more Tim Tebow fans than Dolphins supporters in Miami for this one. Fish coach Sparano is as close to a lame duck as you can get. Tebow will bring a spark, if nothing else, to Denver. We see no incentive for Miami except the chance to get Stanford QB Andrew Luck by losing.

                    DENVER BRONCOS +1
