Fair Grounds - Race #4

#1 Kenmore West	He has a right to be tough here, especially if he can manage a better break today -- he left himself way too much to do last out and still just missed. Think you can lean on him.
#5 Southscape	He looks to complete a top-heavy exacta in a race that figures to be settled by these top two. He showed some two-turn sprint pace at Delta and might be in an OK spot tracking the top choice throughout.
#2 Regatta Bay	Wouldn't be against trying to get him in the picture today while turning back on the main track, as there are a couple of halfway OK dirt runs on the page, and it won't take much to land a small share against a small group without much depth.
Race Summary	Kenmore West should be much closer early on today with a clean break, and he has already established a solid baseline effort that should make him tough in a race without much early zip.

Fair Grounds - Race #7

#9 Finn Mcsorley	He was pretty flat last out in Kentucky, but there are a couple of running lines on his page that would put him in the frame with these, and the price might be OK against a likely short-priced chalk....
#6 Storm Ready	He's supposed to win this, but that feels like it has been the case in a couple of his other races, too. This race starts with figuring out whether you're going to stand with or against him. I'm against on principle.
#2 Touch of Glam	He went evenly near the back in the debut run here a few weeks ago, but that kind of effort gives him some reasonable upside for a barn that doesn't tend to bring them out of the box blazing. Wouldn't argue too hard with anyone taking a midrange price shot here.
Race Summary	Finn Mcsorley and Touch of Glam lead the way for me in taking a stand against Storm Ready -- that guy is fit on form, but it feels like he's starting to get a bit short on excuses.

Fair Grounds - Race #8

#4 Gallant Star	Solid and steady try in that first start of the meet, and there might be a bit of upside in the second start back from the Evangeline summer campaign. The kind of move he made last out can often play better into the full stretch he'll work with today. Feels like a reasonably strong lean.
#7 Mind on My Money	His local form is still a bit of a concern, especially after the non-effort last time out, but that last race came back well enough when a few of them ran back last weekend. The route form gives some hope on the stretchout. Sneaky chance.
#8 Joey's Game	He has found a pretty good home with claiming company in those last few starts, and he'll cut the tag in half today while going second off the layoff. Something like the two-back run would probably do.
Race Summary	There are a handful of win threats in here, but my main interest comes from the top two. Gallant Star should be sitting on something good today after a useful comeback run, and Mind on My Money stretches out to the kind of trip at which he has run well in the past while exiting a race I liked a bit for a cheap level.

Race Summary	PINK WHITNEY broke outward at the start, ranged up 3-wide and ‘fought to mid-stretch’ before she flattened out in a Grade 3 stakes at 1-1/8 miles when last seen in June. She worked a :35-4/5 bullet on the main track from a series of morning moves for her return. Bet to win and place.

Santa Anita - Race #2

#6 FAST SERVICE (9-2)	Strong comeback sprint, failed at odds-on in latest, stretches out.
#7 SILVER N BLACK (5-1)	Checked back into first turn, rallied 5-wide run on second turn, flattened out.
#1 SHE BE BOSS (5-2)	Led at stretch call, held second in last two starts, takes on the boys.
Race Summary	FAST SERVICE rallied 4-wide to just miss off a year layoff, but he was the beaten odds-on favorite in a faster-paced follow-up sprint, finishing 2 lengths behind a next-out maiden $32,000 winner. He has a couple MSW miles to summon as a 3-year-old. Bet to win and place.

Santa Anita - Race #3

#3 BIG MAMA SUE (4-5)	Should live up to favoritism with duplicate of latest try at this distance.
#4 CAROLE LOMBARD (6-1)	Strong run of 5F workouts for high-percentage dirt-to-turf barn.
#5 TIERGARTEN (4-1)	Finished willingly, a half-length behind Big Mama Sue.
Race Summary	BIG MAMA SUE ‘closed fast’ but just missed in a blanket finish in the same spot, but two rivals came back to win, including runner-up Sareeha at the $40,000 level. Play 3-4 and 3-5 exactas.

1st race – (10) Change At Jamaica didn’t fire in his debut against better company. Finds a field he should be able to handle. (4) Chill the J is an interesting firster from Joseph. (5) Attestation could be competitive here. (11) Ojin has some speed and can use it to overcome a bad post. Betting strategy: 10 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-5-10-11.

4th race – (5) Last American Exit has plenty of experience on Tapeta and should prevail. (1) Loyal Louie will benefit from a switch to Gaffalione. (2) Sigrun Fast Boy could improve for a new barn. (6) Jolly Boss is worth a look in this field. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-5-6.

6th race – (1) Little Martha has a nice turn of early speed and will be helped by a rail trip. (3) Crimson may pose a late threat. (2) Miss Taptress was third at this level and belongs in the exotics. (6) Mobay Princess fits in nicely with this group. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-3-6. 3^rd race [Md Sp Wt, 6F] – (5) Letter Perfect (A) came back from a four-month layoff, got steadied back to last, rushed up, got stuck on the inside, and eventually faded. (2) Wrightsville was second in his debut in April behind a horse that became a return winner and comes back now as a new gelding showing fast works at Laurel. (6) Elvis Himself set the pace last month and finished second by just a neck at Aqueduct. This will be his third start after a layoff. (3) Sounds Like Fun was third after returning from an eight-month layoff.

6^th race [Alw 12500s, 6F] – (3) Super Chief (C) was bet down from 5-1 to 3-1 and finished second by a head after a stretch duel. (8) Commerce Comet was a winner last month for a $32,000 tag and finds a perfect spot in this low-level starter allowance. (7) Mister J T won last month for $25,000 and got claimed and has five top three finishes in a row. (1) Hatch was claimed from five races in a row and then hit the board in two $50,000 starter allowances.

7^th race [Alw 92000 N1X, 6 ? F] – (1A) Save Us Melania (B) got blocked at the quarter pole two weeks ago and finished third while well clear of the rest of the field. (1) Stablemate All Class was claimed for $62,500 by Linda Rice in October in Kentucky. (8) Lady Mine (A) came back after a long layoff, got taken up at the start, and was awkward to get into stride. (5) Points is Points broke her maiden special weight at first asking in October at Keeneland. (9) Mybronxbaby won both NY-bred allowances in her last two starts.

9^th race [Moc 50000, 7F] – (6) Run With Honor (A) was second in his debut after having the lead and was well clear of the rest of the field. (3) Bobby Bob (A) was off to a slow start and rallied wide to be second in his debut well clear of the rest of the field. (1) Akinmusire gets blinkers on after a pair of thirds at this level at Churchill. (4) Bernie Goes Boom raced for purse money only last time when he was a close second in a $30,000 maiden claimer.
