Monday NHL Free play. My selection is on Florida-154 over Philadelphia at 7 pm ET on Saturday.
The Panthers enter this matchup following a 4-3 overtime loss to Boston, but they’ve demonstrated a strong ability to rebound, having not suffered consecutive defeats since late December. Florida has excelled on the road this season, posting a solid 14-7-1 record, and has shown consistency by alternating wins and losses in recent outings.
Philadelphia may feel good after routing Anaheim 6-0, but that performance came against one of the league's weaker teams. The Flyers are still just 9-11-1 at home this season and had dropped four straight games before Saturday's victory, showcasing their overall inconsistency.
Florida’s superior road play and ability to avoid extended slumps make them the stronger side in this matchup. Expect the Panthers to bounce back and secure the win.
Take Florida. Projected score: Florida 3, Philadelphia 2.
The Detroit Pistons have quietly gone 9-2 SU & 7-4 ATS in their last 11 games overall to climb above .500 on the season. They are in a favorable rest spot here against the New York Knicks after having yesterday off, while the Knicks will be playing the 2nd of a back-to-back.
Despite blowing out the Bucks on Sunday, the Knicks managed to play their starters big minutes. Four of their five starters played at least 30 minutes, and although Brunson came up just short of that 30 mark, I don't expect him to have much left in the tank after a 44-point effort on 26 shots. He also left the game with an injury before coming back in.
Not only will the Knicks be playing the 2nd of a back-to-back, but they will also be playing their 7th game in 11 days and their 11th game in 18 days. They are about as tired as a team can possibly be right now, and I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to rest anyone tonight.
The Pistons already pulled the 120-111 upset in New York as identical 8-point underdogs on December 7th in their last meeting this season. There's clearly value on this surging team in a favorable rest spot tonight. Bet the Pistons Monday.
We really like the underdog in this matchup. The line looks mispriced when you consider that the Pistons have been one of the hottest teams in the league over the holiday season with eight wins in 10 games while the Knicks, haev lost four of their last six and Jalen Brunson got bruised up in Sunday's win over Milwaukee.
This is a 1% free play on the Pistons on the spread (+7.5)
The Golden State Warriors are a mess right now going 5-10 SU & 5-10 ATS in their last 15 games overall. They are without Kuminga, Podziemski and Payton and could be without Green tonight. The Toronto Raptors are at full strength right now. They were competitive in three consecutive road losses to the Pistons, Cavs and Knicks in their last three games. Now they are back home and catching 6 points to this struggling Warriors team. The Raptors have played the Warriors tough going 5-5 SU in the last 10 meetings. Give me the Raptors.
