Fair Grounds - Race #3

#5 Bayou Bertie	Slight edge here in a fun race, as she's got some pace to force the issue from out here and has been very good in her previous turf starts. Dangerous.
#2 Six String	Not much to argue with here, having won five of his last eight and handling any footing. The one to beat with a likely short kind of price attached to her today.
#1 Sassi Strutter	Worried she'll take the worst of it from the fence, but she has some decent turf tries on her page and might be able to find the frame early and stick around.
Race Summary	Bayou Bertie has been solid on the turf, and she has some attacking pace in a race without a ton of serious early burn. Could see her getting a slight jump on Six String and holding safe.

Fair Grounds - Race #7

#10 Dear Louise	Think you can go a few different ways in here, but the price might be OK on this one while returning off the bench for her third career start. Deeper waters today, but she can land this.
#8 Loterie	I like her Southern California form a little bit, and there might be enough pace lined up to set things up for her late run. Think she's one of the ones today.
#3 War Siren	Forward player should get a solid jump on some of the finishing threats, but the price probably won't be all that appealing for a top team.
Race Summary	Dear Louise may offer a midrange price with these, and she hasn't done anything wrong through two starts so far. Maybe she still has another step forward in her.

Fair Grounds - Race #8

#8 Strummin Mary	Think she can be sitting on a bounce-back effort after the flat run last out, but her two- and three-back efforts would keep her in the picture here.
#11 Secret Wine	She has turned in a couple improved efforts this season, and something like her last probably makes her a threat right back with these.
#3 What's Up Bertie	She makes some sense in here, but I had hoped she might move forward a bit more in that second career start while dropping at Delta. In the mix, but low enthusiasm for me.
Race Summary	Strummin Mary didn't offer much last time out, but I think she'll be able to get past this group after the flat run last time out.

STARRYSTARRYKNIGHT - The jock/conditioner duo of VanDyke and Hemingway has a strong return on investment together. Took a big class drop last out, and I think he may have needed it. Hemingway enters him at a similar level today. I'd expect an improved performance. OURS FOR SURE - Last time around the track at Gulfstream Park this animal finished ahead of today's M/L choice. Potential play if the public follows the morning line odds. The last figure of 75 is the best last race speed rating in the field. FRISSON - I just may give this one a chance. Should improve off last race where he did run out of the money, but was within 5 lengths at the finish.

ALPHA BLUE - This gelding hasn't had any recent favorable outcomes in sprint races. I find it hard to play him in this contest. INSISTING - If he goes off anywhere near the M/L odds of 7/2, I'll have to pass. BEAUTY BOLT - This gelding almost certainly won't be right there at the wire.

CRABS N BEER - Jock jumped on this gelding's back for the 1st attempt on February 5th. Should 'know' the horse even better this time. When this jockey and trainer team up you have to take a look. Vega and Lawrence have been fabulous together. Just view his most recent speed figure, 94. That one looks good in this group. REGALO - The rest of the group may trail this racer all the way around the track. He has the top earnings per race. Take a long look at this horse. The improved speed figures over the last three races is great. Russell drops him in this race in shape and ready to win. WILD VINE - This jockey and handler's horses have been generating a positive ROI. Look for this gelding to run much better today. Last affair at Laurel finishing seventh on the mud is no sign of his true ability. Generally speaking, horses on Lasix for the 1st time should be considered. That's what we have here.

CATALEYA STRIKE - Tough to take this horse at the odds after the result (fourth) in the last race. No pace in this event to help this come from behinder's dreams at winning. COMININALITTLEHOT - Is a solid choice - given the 82 Equibase Speed Fig from his most recent race. Is hard not to consider given the company run in recently. MUSCLED - Garnered a strong speed rating last time out. I would have to consider this colt on the rider and trainer numbers alone.
