I honestly get the impression that you just have something against Sonnen because you have consistently not wanted to give him any more credit than you absolutely have to. You're going to do it again here and he's going to soundly beat Munoz and then you're going to do it again with whoever Chael fights next.

Oh I hate Chael and I love Munoz. I just said all along, I am not sold that Chael is some super Chael all of the sudden after fighting for 7 years and not really doing anything differently (except TRT). I bet him to win when I think he has value. I just expect him to some crashing down Marquart style any fight now. It really is that I don't think he is that good and he has a pretty limited ability to finish, though he did show pretty improved grappling against Stann.

Minus the Maia fight, he has looked pretty incredible since coming back into the UFC. At what point do you let the performances speak for themselves?

Stanns grappling might be shitty or weak againts solid wrestlers.

Chael-munoz ---- i cant pick. I think chael's wrestling might work better in the cage. I also think Chael might have better standup, he did drop Anderson. Better standup can equal better wrestling BTW. That is why I say chaels wrestling could work better in the cage. That said, Chael is a favorite and I don't feel comfortable betting him there.

I can't say what I think without coming off as hating... IMO the most impressive thing he has done in his career is beat Okami. He beat Marquart as well. Those are the two best fighters he has ever defeated, and they are both pretty good. He was dominant in those fights, but not what I would call impressive, in that he was never even remotely close to finishing either guy (or really any top contender, ever, aside from Silva). But he also got subbed twice and once by Filho right before coming to the UFC. I also think he has benefited from fighting a lot of guys that aren't very good at submissions or stuffing takedowns and he is the beneficiary of a weighclass short on wrestlers.

Munoz has been just as impressive as Sonnen IMO, if not moreso. Munoz has only lost once in the division. He is a little bit more sporadic in that he is sometimes losing before he is winning, but has been getting it done, and IMO Munoz actually has the best win between them, beating Maia. Munoz is 7-1 in the division, while Sonnen is 4-2. I just think he WWE heels you people into thinking he has accomplished more than he really has.

I would put Sonnen's win over Marquardt ahead of Munoz' win over Maia. Marquardt at the time was ranked like #3, maybe #2 depending on where people had Dan Henderson, and nobody even gave Sonnen a shot to win that fight(including Me). Thats where the term "Marquardt'd" came from.

Not to mention that Marquardt sent Maia to the moon.

                          Munoz/Simpson

This fight should be a good "research tool" for Sonnen/Munoz, since Munoz is fighting another aggressive wrestler. But I am not sure of how different Simpson and Sonnen's wrestling styles are.

Yeah, and Maia humiliated Sonnen. What's your point?

I hear what your saying scientist. Maybe chael is getting some undo credit. However you shouldn't overlook the fact that chael was able to dominate okami and Munoz was stifled by him.

That is the key right there imo. However that doesn't mean that Munoz won't win.
