That's probably about what I would expect, actually. It's not a movie that's going to appeal to everyone. Plus, those are just domestic numbers. You can add whatever it made/makes internationally to it (though studios take home a smaller percentage of the international profits than domestic profits).

Apparently the first one did just slightly better with a $34M opening weekend and went on to make something like $270M worldwide.

Expendables is fun, but Fast Five is a genuinely great action movie.

I'm sure it sucks ass, but F&F has always been a guilty pleasure. Plus The Rock, so what can ya do.

And I also haven't seen the Bourne Supremacy or Ultimatum. Not sure why, I always loved the first movie.

I'm not sure why it has to be a GUILTY pleasure. They're well-made films, in my opinion. Not everything has to be The Godfather.

But seriously, a lot of critics hailed Fast Five as the best action movie of the year. I don't want to hype it TOO much because it's not mind-blowing or anything. But it's a good time.

Never seen the Expendables, no interest. I liked the Bourne movies ok. I can't have the Fast and Furious discussion again, it is obviously crap.

I finally got around to seeing Dark Knight Rises this weekend. I thought it was ok, not as good as the other two in the trilogy IMO. Also, I was sort of confused by what they were trying to do at the end.

They were setting up the next movie, Batman and Robin.

That would make sense, but I thought that it was done after this movie. It was like a "oh yeah, and this was Robin... but we aren't going to do anything with that, but he found the batcave! The end."

It's not going to be Batman and Robin. Bale is done, which I thought was made quite clear.

My guess is that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is going to step into the role of Batman. They made a big point to say that Batman is a symbol and the man behind the symbol is unimportant.

And Scientist, I think what they are done with is Bale as Batman. This is essentially the conclusion of the Bale era and the Bale trilogy. That story has been told from his origin to his retirement. I also think Nolan is probably done and they'll bring in a new director to carry the franchise forward.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt won't be the next Batman, or they wouldn't have introduced him as Robin, they would have just left that part out. If Bale is done, the next movie will probably revolve around Robin.

yeah... I just thought it was over and they should start over. I saw no reason to try to set up Robin as the new Batman, or to create buzz for a Batman and Robin movie that is never going to happen, and to me it just seemed like a pointless segue. The only thing that would make sense is if they were going to make "Robin: The Movie" or something... like I said, I was just confused as to why they did that. Also, I am sort of confused by how Batman escaped a nuclear explosion with a 6 mile blast radius. Just seems like they threw the towel in at the end.
