I think he said he just wasn't into it anymore. Understandable IMO, there are easier ways to make a living than getting hit in the face all the time (especially true for Hammill who was able to avoid like 5% of punches to his head).

I think that's strange though, considering he's one of those guys who has been competitive his whole life and he was on a five fight win streak (counting the Jones DQ) before running into Rampage and Gustaffson.

He has a degree, he has a wife and kids, he's proven about everything he's going to prove in this sport. He got to the big show, he did well there, but if your heart isn't in it anymore it's time to hang it up.

If his heart is genuinely not in it, then that's fine, but my fear is that he got his ass kicked by some top 5/top 10 kind of guys and he was just like, If I can't be champ, then there's no point in doing this. And I think that is a bad way to look at things.
