She did show up and we worked most of the day. We kind of talked things out. I wasn't able to get all the shots I wanted, but I was able to get a good bit. So it's not going to be the film I planned on making but I'm just going to do the best I can with what I've got. At the end of the day it's just an exercise to get familiar with the basics of filmmaking, but I would still like it to be good.

And I found her the same place I find all my bitchez: Craigslist. No, I didn't pay her. She said she wanted the experience. She has done a lot of musicals as a professional, but hasn't done much in the way of film and wants to transition to that.

And I can't kill off her character because she's the only character in like 90% of the film. I had another script with a dude and a girl but the dude was totally flakey -- said he wanted to do it and then disappeared right before we started filming. So I wrote a brand new script just for her.
