I wish it snowed more here, it snows just enough to fuck up your life, but not enough to do anything cool with. The one or 2 times per year that we get any snow that sticks, I usually take off and go snowboarding at our shitty little ski resort. It is good times.

At least they have (small) mountains in TN. There are no mountains in Paoli, Indiana. That said, the little ski resort is really not that bad. I have made trips to Colorado and Idaho for snow boarding and the only real difference is the length of the run. It is still fun and good practice. Also, if I skip out of work and go on a weekday, I literally have the entire resort to myself.

I love the mountains and I am actually pretty jealous of SLC.

Ober Mountain was my first experience skiing at all so I thought it was awesome. And considering I'm still a pretty shitty skiier I'm sure I could still go there and have fun with it.

I remember when I was in Minnesota they had a few little ski hills right around Minneapolis that you could go and ski down. I never did it, though.

And yeah, the mountains here are pretty awesome.

I suck at skiing and boarding too. I have fun, and occasionally hurt myself pretty bad. If I had some mountains nearby, I would be up in that shit pretty much every day. I would just throw up a shack like the unabomber. Doing stuff outside is pretty much the only thing I actually enjoy doing anymore, and the farther I can get from everyone else, the better. I need to move.

Anyway, I've tried skiing but decided I don't really like it.

I think it's fun but it can be hard to get the hang of. I picked up the basics fairly well but seemed to just hit a roadblock after that.

I found it to be pretty easy to learn. I grew up wakeboarding and waterskiing, so it was pretty natural for me. I cansee why some people dont like it though. It is cold and fast and tiring at first and the rental equipment sucks. Skiing is like cycling that way, having your own decent equipment makes a lot of difference.
