Sure, he has been around awhile and we have all seen him do things, but people were talking like he suddenly came into his own and had newfound great abilities.
Well I definitely feel that he has improved and DOES have newfound abilities. He's not the same fighter who lost to Ishida or to Thomson the first time around.

Also, he destroyed Aoki, and I'm pretty sure Aoki was like top 3 or something at the time.

Masvidal is also a very good win (though there are rumors that Masvidal's hand was broken going into that fight, so if that's true, I really want to see a rematch).

In my opinion, he has done more than enough against very good fighters for anyone to have good reason to believe that he was going to walk right through Thomson. If nothing else, there's always MMAth. Melendez>Kawajiri>Thomson.

Looks like Griggs has wisely pulled out of the Davis fight with an injury. Who do they have for Davis instead?

An 8-0 newcomer named Wagner Prado who works with Nogueira. Hmm... haven't heard of him, but he's undefeated. OK, let's take a look at the record of the guys he beat:

      0-2
      2-3
      1-3
      5-9
      7-4
      0-2
      2-3
      5-9

So he's only beaten one guy with a winning record, Luis Paixao at 7-4, and that guy's wins came over fighters who were:

      5-12
      3-13
      3-4
      1-9
      2-1
      1-1
      0-1

Looks to me like someone at Zuffa really wants to get Davis a win.

It certainly looks that way... I don'r know who they could put him in with though that would be a tough fight, aside from the top (Machida, Shogun, Rashad, Jones). Maybe a rematch with Gustaffson. I would like to see him fight Rampage. I think he would beat Rampage, and that is what the UFC wants at this point. Maybe Bader would be a good fight for both guys.

I am pretty sure the line will change on Lombard/Stann because I think it will be a 5 rounder.

Also, what does everybody think about Stann/Lombard? Is the Lombard hype train going to get KTFO? Or is Stann going to get taken down and beaten up similar to the Schlemenko/Lombard fight?

Lombard all the way. He outclasses Stann on the ground and is the better striker to boot. He plays the counterstriking game which is horrible for Stann.

Sweet...I see a lot of people saying Stann is going to KO him. I really haven't seen too much of Lombard actually.

He's extremely patient, almost to a fault. I have only seen his last cpl fights though. I need to rewatch his losses. Especially the mousasi one. Im assuming both of his losses came from being outwrestled/grappled. People also seem to believe he gasses easily, I havent seen this, but I also havent seen many of his fights. I know he took down schlemenko multiple times in their fight so he has decent offensive wrestling. Anyway, I am hoping his line continues to drop because I will be taking him for sure.

Stann is not that good. Lombard wins unless he does something retarded.

Well apparently it was Stann injured, not Lombard

Brian Stann injured, out of UFC on FOX 4 headliner with Hector Lombard

Poor James Te Huna. He was about to get a win over a popular name, now I am guessing he is going to be fed to Glover
