Yeah but Siver is a german kickboxing champion and he got dropped by Cerrone. I notice that Diaz outstruck Cerrone and Bendo beat Diaz but Bendo outwrestled Diaz. He didn't outstrike him so I feel like thats kinda a moot point. They have both been talking shit about keeping this fight standing and I happen to think that Cerrone is a slightly better striker. It doesn't mean that Pettis can't outstrike him. He definetly can, I just give the edge to Cerrone.
Cerrone also came out and said he felt flat footed in the Diaz fight. He complained that it was his seventh fight in 14 months. Maybe it is a bullshit excuse but I don't know. It sounds like a rough schedule to me.
I think Pettis is a talented and flashy striker with a lot of speed and power. The problem is he hasn't faced a lot of good strikers. Cerrone has 30 muay thai fights and two muay thai titles. I think there is a difference in facing somebody like that because they are technically more sound. Defensively, offensively. I think Cerrone will be harder for Pettis to connect on than Joe Lauzon or Bendo because he has had so many years of experience evading punches and kicks. Alright sorry for rambling on about this but I just wanted to make my point clear. Now watch Pettis jump off the cage and to a spinning Jean Claude Van Damme kick to Cerrones head and win via KO in the first round.
