Oh, we'll see. I at least have to look good, even if it's in defeat.

Apparently there are three aspects to TKD tournament competition:

    1. Forms/Patterns/Kata (whatever you want to call it)
    2. Sparring
    3. Breaking

. . . and I have to learn them all.

I like that back handed confidence in the contest.

Oh, Scientist, one more thing regard judo/bjj for self defense. . .

At least in my limited experience, I've found that three moves will work in 90% of situations against an untrained opponent:

                1. Hip toss to get them to the ground. It's an easy throw that puts you on top, where you can transition to the mount and start laying down punches.

                2. If they reach up to block your arms, grab one and transition to an arm bar.

                Or. . .

                3. If they manage to spin around and give up their back, rear-naked choke.

seriously whos Kenny Monday and why should I know who he is?
He is an olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling.

I confused him with Kevin Jackson, who is probably the greatest American wrestler to ever compete in MMA (he was also a godl medalist). Jackson got armbarred from guard in like 20 seconds by Frank Shamrock.

Kasushi Sakuraba is not a wrestler, he is a catch wrestler. If you had said trained in Pro Wrestling, I would give it to you.

Royce and Renzo are not world class grapplers. Royce is probably about an average blackbelt. Royler probably weighs 135-140. Still Royler was world class, and I would count it IF Sak was a wrestler.

                        Oh, and Royce beat Sakuraba.

Explain to me exactly what catch wrestling is. . .

I always took it as a "style" of wrestling like greco, freestyle, etc.
