I think Cain beats JDS, but JDS beats everyone else.

Why do you feel that Cain beats JDS? Do you think Cain is going to end up with the belt when it's all said and done?

Brock has to get a takedown and hope Shane turns to face him in guard. Or gas. But Shane can land a shot on the feet. He can land a shot from the clinch. And he can win a decision by keeping it upright or controlling the clinch.

I heard those same exact arguements about the Babalu-Lawler fight. Babalu "had" to take Robbie down to win because he couldnt strike with him .

Not from me. I said Lawler's striking was overrated and I thought Babalu had a great chance.

That said, Babalu has a more well rounded game than Brock. Brock has 4.3 fights (that first guy, I could have beaten). To expect that he is going to suddenly flash his well rounded skills is kind of hoping for a lot. It is pure guesswork.

But I am not saying Brock can't strike with him. He has landed a couple shots in his fights. I just don't think Brock is going to try.

the takedown. He is like Sonnen with the takedown... he doesn't give up on it. Same reason I think Brock would beat him. He would get him down and keep him there.

Mir and Carwin haven't shown the takedown ability/tenacity.

I do.

I think to beat JDS you need more than awesome wrestling. He's quick, agile, and nimble enough to stay away and punch your head in if he likes. Cain has fantastic striking as well and can match his athleticism, which gives him more options. He also has a great chin and is shown to do very well in the clinch. On top of all this, he seems to have endless cardio and pushes an incredible pace.

I'm not saying JDS can't beat Cain but I don't favor him. I do think it will be a tremendous fight whenever it happens. I hope it's 5 rounds when it does.

That's a good point too. Cain's takedowns are extremely technical. A guy like Brock relies more on his size, speed, and power for his takedowns. I think Cain's technique is far superior. Notice how he almost always throws the legs aside and lands in side control.

I think if the fight is on their feet Lesnar can hold his own especially if he circles right. If the fight is in the clinch I think Lensar learned enough in the Couture fight and from Couture to be fine there also. I expect it to go to the ground but if it doesnt I'm not going to think I'm in trouble by a long shot. Thats alot of the reason I made this a big play. I think no matter how the match is fought Lesnar will be fine

Well, I am just being devil's advocate. I think it is a close fight either way. I would not be surprised to see a knock out either way. And I wouldn't be surprised to see Lesnar ground him. Personally, I think it is going to a very slow first round with both guys respecting the power of the other, and Brock not wanting to get too close for the shot and trying to get him rhythm back.

I really have no idea what will happen.

Carwin should win this. Brock is way overhyped. If his name was Bob Smith and he had the exact same credentials/size etc than nobody would rate him as high as they do now.

Why does everyone seem to assume that Brock will have such a tough time taking Carwin down? the one time I saw someone try to take him down(Gonzaga) they were able to. Carwin is not a fast guy, so it will be his brute strength and size that will have to keep him upright. I am not sure that will be enough.

I was thinking Carwin was a good bet @ +160 or +170. But I also think Brock is approaching value @ -130 or so.

Maybe best to not bet it, and just enoy watching it. I think this is going to be a VERY GOOD PPV. All the fights may end up being really exciting.

There are some great betting opportunities on this card... but I reluctantly agree with southbaysurf here.... This is probably a fight that should be avoided for betting.

Maybe so. I dunno. Cain's proving himself to be very solid. Not sure if I'm sold on his striking, though. I'm not sure why. I mean, it's getting results, but for some reason I don't think he can hang on at all with someone like JDS.

As for the takedowns, it's really hard to say how JDS will react to a wrestler like Cain. All we can do it guess and gamble.

Not sure about that. If anything, his WWE background brings more criticism than anything else. People just look for a reason to hate.

I'd actually buy every PPV if I had 2-3 friends to watch these with but since its just me I put in on the laptop and stream to the TV.
