I am leaning hard to Ellenberger right now. I am considering a bet there. Howard has more outs and I doubt Ellenberger can finish him... that is what is holding me back. I think there is a good chance Ellenberger Sonnen's him.

I honestly think Ellenberger's gonna fuck Howard up and stands a good chance of finishing him. Maybe I'm not being fair, but I see Howard as being a "good" fighter who's had some amazing luck. Ellenberger, on the other hand, is a real rising star and is definitely standing out in the field of newcomers.

Will Howard's "luck" hold out on this one? Maybe it will. But I think Ellenberger will have both the striking and grappling advantage, and I hope he ends this thing via utter apocalyptic destruction.

I agree Howard has gotten pretty lucky. He had a couple of crazy knockouts, especially against Hallman. Hallman was 5 seconds away from taking a 30-27 decision. He also could have lost a decision in his other 2 wins (split decision). He straight KO'd Roberts, but I personally think it was a fluke shot.

I do think he has some pretty good grappling and obviously he has power in his hands. I would give him the striking advantage over Jake. Also, he is quite small for WW and Jake is big, which should help control.


You have convinced me though. The natural state of this fight is Ellenberger pounding away. He is pretty good in the scrambles himself and Howard has to make something happen again to win this fight.

I was going to lay 0.25u on Gomi @+250, but he will not win a decision against Griffin, his only shot is a (T)KO, so I went with the inside the distance prop for better value.

I was going to bet Volkmann, but then I started to lean towards Kelly, but I am going to stay away. I will probably throw something down on Johnson though.

This is how I see it. Howard will have to materialize something out of thin air again, which apparently he is capable of doing, but I'm not going to bet on it. Also, I don't want to get all MMAth up in here, but Ellenberger looked infinitely more impressive against Condit than Howard did against the Barncat, and I think Condit probably beats the Barncat.

Fun fact:

Matyushenko is giving up 10 inches of reach to Jon Jones. I think he is going to get Hamil'd though I havent really seen much tape on him.

That is a fun fact. Jones will probably win, but I still think he is fluking out every time.
I feel the same way about Mir. If he wins, I always think it was a freak occurance and that he couldn't replicate it.

I think Jones' weakness is going to be his submission defense, not really someting Vlad can capitalize on. Also, there aren't a lot of submission threats at 205, so he should be good for a while. It is weird how it pans out. 155 has a lot of wrestlers and also a lot of bjj guys. 170 is all wrestlers. 185 is full of bjj guys and strikers. 205 is all strikers and a few wrestlers (Braulio and Roger arer LHW's- but they view MMA as a fun side hobby). Its weird.

^^^ Not sure why you feel that way about Jones. He has always shown that he has tons of talent and has dominated his opponents so far.
