It's not about him really. I could care less about the guy. But the no gi system and his rubber guard is apart of the sport of mma, and every turn you make bjj guys spend half their life ragging on the dude and saying the system doesn't work and at the same time saying it was stolen from bjj. So they make themselves look like an ass by saying in a round about way that bjj doesn't work.

I disagree. The gi make you a better grappler, even without the gi.

I'm not sure I agree. I know for a fact that when you are used to a gi being there that you can grab onto, and suddenly you don't have it, then you feel lost. Also, a lot of the chokes and pins and shit can't even be done without a garment on.

At least one thing, from what I've read, is that the gi forces you to be more technical, since you can't just muscle out of shit when everything gets sweaty.

To be fair, I've never heard him straight up "put down" a grappling system. Everyone knows he's been inseminated with more Gracie jizz than a $2 Rio whore, so it's not surprising that it's his preference. But he reps wrestling and judo, just not to the extent that he does BJJ.
