apparently America experimented with thorium but chose uranium because they needed the waste products for weapons manufacturers. as thorium waste is not any good for weapons.

^^ side note, Mir is not 6'3". I met him right before the first Nog fight, he is actually surprisingly small. I expected him to be huge, but he was really just sort of normal sized.

I have never seen Faber IRL, but I have read that he is tiny. Like you are taken aback by how little he is.
