The sleeper in this event is McCorkle. He's at +190 @ sportsbook.com. Hunt has a head like a gourd, but he hasn't fought any decent competition in years, and he's a Pride transplant with no cage experience. Mousassi arm barred him and Melvin Mahoef KO'ed him.
For a porker he does have some cardio, but I see no reason to have him at -240. +190 is a nice solid lay for McCorkle.
Hunt did beat CroCop back in the day. If you recall, he took two LHKs from CroCop WITH the goofy racketball shoes on back at Pride Shockwave 2005 and didn't fall.
McCorkle a sleeper? No way. The guy is a can crusher and he doesn't do anything but strike as far as I know. Mark Hunt was a pro K-1 kickboxer that has fought the absolute best strikers in the world. Thats a crazy guy to call a sleeper. BTW Mousasi is good and Manhoef is a very powerful and talented striker. Hunt has not lost to any bums. Manhoef, Mousasi, fedor, Barnett.....some of the best out there.
Hunt-Mccorkle looks like a striker vs striker battle. Does anyone else see it differently?
And I dont understand the Sherk bets. Do you guys expect him to win or are you just betting value?
I think if Sherk shows up and fights with the right gameplan, he will win. If he tries to do some midget boxing, he will most likely lose. But if goes with the Florian gameplan, like he should in every fight, I think only BJ is better @ LW. Dunham has very sound technical bjj... but Sherk is a bjj killer. He is impossible to submit, he can cut you from inside guard, and his takedowns are tough to stop. All things considered (Sherk's gameplans, layoff, age, injuries), I probably slightly favor Dunham... but I will take a chance on Sherk @ 2:1

I am going to be surprised if McCorkle lasts 3 minutes. hunt is not only K1 level, he was a champion. He has definitely faded though... but given another striker, you have to favor him. Yeah, Manhoef KO'd him, but Manhoef is a beast and throws with reckless abandon- against a stationary target like Hunt, his speed is going to be pretty deadly. McCorkle won't have that advantage.
I mean, they are both question marks at this point, but you have to favor Hunt a lot. I wouldn't bet it personally, because you are going to have 2 300 pound men slinging at the other's cranium, so anything could happen. But I have no reason to think McCorkle is going to win. Whereas the other dogs have actual advantages in some places (as I see it).
Have you ever heard of Johnny Oddessa? I've been trying to get radio interviews on him to see what his thoughts are on ufc 119. Supposedly he was an odds maker at one point. You know if he is any good?
He still is an oddsmaker. He doesn't do like the Bookmaker early openers or anything I don't think but I believe he sets most of the later lines. He shows up on Junkie Radio before the events a lot of times. It looks like he was on there today. And yeah, he's pretty good.
