This is something that requires a lot of attention and a lot of work. This is something I have come to realize. Its all in or nothing.

^^ yep, that is what it always come back to. You just have to do the work and keep your bets sized appropriately. There is never a point where you can just coast on your awesomeness, which is what I always end up trying to do after a win streak.2012: +19.33

Yeah, I actually merged with another bigger firm a couple months ago, Strikeforce style. So our offices became one unholy monster, and I am now being sent off to replicate in another town. All part of my plan for global domination.2012: +19.33

I heard that shit. I'm definitely guilty of this. I've tried to pick up my video watching, but I still don't do nearly as much research as I should, or as I used to.I heart cockComment

Exactly, every time I win a few bets I start thinking I have mastered this, and the money will just come to me because of my supreme awesomeness. I am like BJ Penn that way, I get complacent pretty quick. BUt then when I lose, I am like Frank Mir, I think I have to overhaul everything I have ever done. The reality is that I just have to keep the intensity up all time. I have to prepare for every event like it is my lunch money on the line. But I don't, I just throw bets around for kicks.2012: +19.33

It is hard to stay focused and intense on it. It gives you a lot of respect for these fighters that can stay on top of their games year in and year out, because you know they go through the same things... I know I do with my hobbyist training. Sometimes I will be like "I am going to cut to 175, I am going to get my brown belt, I am going lift weights, eat nothing but protein shakes and egg whites, and dominate the universe." Then other times, I am just like "fuck it, I am going to be fat and lazy and surprise people." It works out for a hobby because it is all practice, but it would not work out fighting. I think wagering is a lot like that. You can't afford to have extended down periods, because a few bad events can kill your return for the year.2012: +19.33

Yeah, and that's some fucked up shit, too. I remember last year how we were talking about how our overall return for the year was greatly affected not even just by single events, but even single FIGHTS.I heart cockComment

Yep, the only way to make each fight less meaningful is to bet more of them. And some people make a lot more bets. I prefer to be selective and just try to win more often.2012: +19.33

Yeah, last quarter of last year, I decided to move to an approach where I place a lot more, but smaller bets. It worked very well for a while, but this year has turned to shit for me. I may tighten back up again.Comment

sooo let me get this straight:
AJ started camp 8 weeks ago at 230 lbs
He has to make 171 tomorrow
Supposedly had a fairly recent knee injury
Has been injured on and off since UFC 106
Hasn't fought since UFC 106 (November 2009)
He is blackComment
