There has to be an element of luck in success, even if it is just by avoiding the bad luck. Whether it is the chaos which creates the opportunity, or whether you just luck out not getting caught doing something stupid.

When I was in college, I stole some money from my employer and I also ran over a kid and drove off (he wasn't hurt). Had I been unlucky enough to be charged with either felony, I am sure my life would be quite different. We can push the odds in our favor, those being the only 2 felonies I have committed in my 16 years as an adult, but we can never really eliminate chance from our lives.

I also cheated in school a lot and never got caught.

The referendum is the only one on the ballot this fall in the state. It asks whether sports betting should be allowed at Atlantic City casinos, the state's four horse racing tracks, and a former track location in Cherry Hill, outside Philadelphia.

Polls indicate the question will be approved. Even if it is, no bets can be taken unless a federal ban on sports betting in all but four states is overturned.
The idea is to bring customers into the struggling casinos and tracks, who would bet on sports, then play slots or table games, or bet on horses, in addition to eating and drinking.

I never realized there was a federal ban on sports betting. It does not even seem legal that a Federal ban could apply to only some States.

On a scale of 1 to 10, if Jesus returned tomorrow as is prophesied in the Bible, and Christianity was proven to be true, how shocked would everyone be?

I'd probably be a 7, so definitely pretty fucking surprised, but I guess it's still drilled into my head enough to where I wouldn't be completely flabbergasted.

Yeah, from the standpoint of non-Christians left behind on earth, I'm not sure how to tell the difference between a Christian God summoning all the faithful to heaven in a Rapture, and a malevolent anti-Christian Power massacring all the Christians.
