I trained a little over a year in BJJ and was probably about 6 weeks away from getting my blue belt. I loved it, but I had to give it up when my job had me working Tuesdays/Thursdays during season when the snowbirds came down, and Tuesdays and Thursdays were the only days we trained. The thing I didn't like was that it was a very small group of us, and rolling with the same people over and over got pretty old. It was always exciting when somebody new came, but it was either a complete new guy that was way out of shape and went into cardiac arrest during the warm up, or a really good brown belt that showed up from time to time that kind of just helped us out.

When I was a kid I was into martial arts in the extreme. It was pretty much an all-consuming passion. This was when I was doing TKD. Then my dad thought I was getting too violent and he banned me from watching martial arts movies (my primary source of inspiration) and soon after that I got a C on my report card (in math) and he pulled me out of TKD. If those two things had never happened then I might have stayed heavy into martial arts on into the years to come and have like 10 black belts now or something.

As it stands, though, I've never quite gotten back to that level of enthusiasm and have mostly just dabbled as an adult. (The only thing I've seriously done as an adult was judo, which I might still be into if not for a back injury and, subsequently, moving.) When I get a car and have a little extra money I always say I'm going to "get back into it" in some form or another, but I think that, regardless of the art, I really have to find a good school/group to train with. There are so many lame schools out there.

Sometime in the future I want to go back and train BJJ, but really only as a hobby. I wasn't exactly the most talented and I had a hard time picking up certain things so I know that I am not going to be great or anything. I found something I am good at right now (powerlifting) and I think I have the potential in that sport to become one of the best in the country and maybe even world in 10 years so I am just going to stick to that.

^^^ That's cool that you have found something, PP. I wish I could say with a straight face that there's something I do where I'm one of the very best at it.

Does powerlifting help you get the chicks?

I meant biggest fight so far this year for diehard boxing fans. It would be like Cruz fighting Bowles in the WEC. It was a big fight for the sport but most casual people wouldnt care . The 1.454 million viewers was considered extremely poor for Showtime.

I posted the numbers more to ask why wasnt anyone watching Strikeforce?

I'll be honest I wouldnt have even watched Bradley -Alexander if I hadnt had such a big bet on it. I would have DVR'd it and watched it after Strikeforce was over

I could be wrong, but isn't that pretty typical for SF? I mean, that's double what a lot of the WECs got.

I wonder what a typical UFN gets on Spike.

I think I might have asked this before, but can any of you guys design a website? Templates are fine, doesn't have to be super awesome, but it does need a few gadgets. Just wanting to try something out, I will pay you.
