Anyway, yeah, kind of early for half a foot of snow. We've gotten a little bit in the mountains here, but that's it.

Just got back from a comp. Got 3rd in purple absolute... lost to a very good guy rd 1, it actually built my confidence how well I did with takedowns against him... ultimately, he gave up and went for a scarifice throw, I got on top and then he quickly recovered and took my back. I got to half guard but could not move him (juco AA wrestler, 4 stripe purple)... He was a super nice guy though, I felt overpowered, but he said that I felt like a rock and that he was helpless standing, which may have just been kind words, but still nice to hear.

Brent Weidman was there, he got his brown and he actually looked really good out there. I have been saying I don't think his ground is that good, but he looks like he got a lot better. Watch out for Kurt Kinser, he was a d1 AA at IU last year, he is a blue belt now... he is a beast. He fought my buddy at Bellator last year if you guys recall, but now he is on our team. If he keeps fighting, I think he can make it in the UFC @ FW. Really good wrestler, sharp submissions, gnp is good... and he is learning fast.

9 times out of 10, guys are cool. It was the same way in wrestling tourneys, guys are usually really easy going and willing to shoot the shit after the match, or even before it. I am still buddies with some of the guys I used to compete against in wrestling.
