First off, I would not at all be surprised to see JDS outstrike Overeem. Not in the slightest.
Second, with only a couple of exceptions, Overeem hasn't submitted anyone that has any real ground skills.
Third, I think the first round would be close but JDS would pull ahead substantially in rounds 2 and 3 as the gas-fest begins.
Now, with all that said, you're always trying to discredit JDS. If you can't see what a special fighter he is by now then, dude, I can't help you.
No one would ever gas against JDS because he fights at too slow of a pace so mark that one off your little list2015 MMA BETTING CHAMP

And I don't know. This is what's hard about making MMA rankings. May as well just make rankings for the UFC and Strikeforce. It really does leave too much speculation because those guys don't fight/haven't fought each other.Comment

Yeah...awesome point. For some reason when I was making that up, I completely forgot Carwin lost to Brock.

No, you're actually right. The only argument I can make for Carwin is that he beat Mir, who was probably #4 or #5 back then, lost to Brock who was ranked higher than him and lost to JDS who was ranked higher than him. So Carwin basically didn't move much. As for Mir..kind of the same thing. He was probably #3 or #4 (what was the seemingly consensus rank on Big Nog before UFC 92?) going into UFC 100, lost to #2 Brock, then beat Kongo which did nothing for him, then lost to Carwin who's last win was Gonzaga (was he top 10 before UFC 96?), then beat Cro Cop and Roy Nelson which basically did nothing.Comment
