I don't know how Akiyama will do. It's entirely possible he can draw things out a little with his throws but it's likely he ends up knocked out because his striking defense isn't great, he has relied on his chin most of the time and thats not a sound strategy against Belfort.2013: +8.24u(increased unit size on 5/19)

I love Vitor, and I would be pretty confident that an "on-point" Vitor would kick Akiyamas' ass. He's beaten better guys than Akiyama, and never lost to anyone worse.
But the problem with Vitor now is that we've seen him in the cage for all of about 8 minutes in the last three years, and it comes at a time when he may be reaching a turning point in terms of both "fight age" and "chronological age".Comment

I think Belfort/Akiyama is going to be a competitive fight. Belfort doesn't seem to be the type of striker that comes forward and throws flurries anymore, he looked like he wanted to counter in the Franklin fight and he didn't really do anything in the Silva fight except get his head kicked off into the audience. I just think Belfort @-290 or whatever he is is pretty nuts.Comment
