I made a series of bets to go the distance at values ranging from +400 to +150. I ended up having a lot more riding on the "hendo by decision" outcome than I even realized at the time. In hindsight, I really lucked out.

Well, actually it was a lot on Hendo, and also a lot on the pure distance prop. A draw would have been OK, but the fight getting stopped late in Rua's favor would have really sucked for me.

I wonder if the judges were reluctant to hand out the 5th 10-8 solely because they knew that would make it a draw given how they scored the first four rounds.

man that was the best mma fight i ever saw. lots of drama, back and forth, both guys tough as nail. lol at the ref saying "last round guys" at the beginning of round 3 and Dan Henderson put up 3 fingers and said "3 more" haha. They both laughed at it. I didnt even bother with the live betting, just enjoyed the whole fight. Lost a few units at the beginning of the day, thanks to Matt Brown... but made it all up with Bonnar via live betting. That said, I think Dan Henderson will lose to both Jones and Anderson Silva. Henderson and Rua should just fight a few more easier fights where they will win and call it a career. They took so much damage last night, esp Shogun. I really like shogun, hope he doesnt end up like Wanderlei but i'm sure he's gonna have more tough fights and end up hurt. That's the fighting business.

yeah it's only dramatic if u know how the first 3 rounds went lol. Shogun turning the table around but he's too exhausted to stop Henderson. maybe going for something like an armbar is the best way to finish Henderson in the 5th, anything else, he's too exhausted to pull off.

Yeah, they certainly aren't good rounds out-of-context. That's part of why I think Alvarez-Chandler was the "better fight" (although there was some gassing out there, too).

I rewatched the last two rounds and one thing that stood out to me was that I forgot how much Hendo was dominating the first 3 minutes of round 4. Fightmetric is really on crack here. I'm actually surprised every judge scored that round for Rua.

Hendo didnt really do much in the round. got a takedown and stayed on top for about 2 minutes. other than that, shogun won the rest of the rd.
