I think you were affected by rogans bias in that fight. He was infatuated with everything le did and even tried to argue the stoppage was quick. Le landed a spinning back fist and a roundhouse and those were the only 2 shots that visibly rocked him.

I dunno. Maybe. I think the fact that Wanderlei looked so tentative during the first gave me the impression that he didn't like what Le was doing, too.

How would it make any sense to have a guy who has lost 4 fights in a row in convincing fashion, that probably shouldn't even be in the top 20 fight a top 10-12 guy??

Well let's go through the top 10:

GSP - Fight makes no sense
Fitch - No sense + losers vs losers
Diaz - Makes no sense + losers vs losers
              Kos - See above.
              Ellenberger - See above.
Shields - Would make sense, but he's fighting Akiyama.
Condit - See all that shit above about making no sense and losers vs losers.
Story - That would be a good one. Would pay the PPV price to see it.
Hendricks - Beat him already + losers vs losers.
Penn - Hopefully headed back to LW.

So c'mon smart guy, what do you think? If my suggestion is so ridiculous, then what's yours?

watch it again (mayb without rogans man crush commentating). Lands the more significant punches. cuts the other guy. and blocks most of le's attacks. not to mention finishing the rd strong and swarming le.

I thought about Diego, but he won his last fight and is also both out with a hand injury and tentatively scheduled to fight Ellenberger, last I heard. I can roll with the other two.

I did think Wand was making a come back but just felt like it was too little too late.

I don't think it matters all the time about the winner vs winner/loser vs loser thing. Kind of like Bowles vs Faber...Faber loses, is at the top of the weight class, and is fighting somebody coming off a win that is coming up the weight class.

Story is ranked above Diego...it would be a similar situation. But for the most part that's how it works (loser/loser etc)

I don't personally like that it's usually done that way, but I followed the guideline when suggesting matchups. But still, considering the fact that he's two in the hole no one else in the top 10 makes a lot of sense.
