The Tampa Bay Lightning have a losing record on the season, but have been resilient at home, posting a 9-5 mark on the season. They have been tighter around the net in their last two games allowing just a total of 2 regulation goals. Montreal exploded for 6 goals at Ottawa in their last time out on the ice, but overall this has been a struggling offense. In their previous 14, the Habs scored just 31 times and just 9 in their last five prior to the outburst. The 6 goals was the fifth time this season they have reached the 5-goal mark and they followed in the previous four by averaging 1.75 goals per game, showing their season long inconsistencies on offense. I do like Montreal here as I think their defense holds down Tampa Bay and their offense finds enough vs. Tampa's defense. Tampa Bay has struggled vs. poor offensive teams in recent years, going just 11-17 under Guy Boucher vs. teams that score 2.5 or fewer goals per game. And, as a favorite this season, the Lightning are just 6-11. The Canadiens have gone 41-19-4 to the UNDER in their last 64 road games, and that includes five of the last seven in Tampa, as well as a 9-4 UNDER mark in this series over the 13 meetings. Play Montreal and take the UNDER for my NHL Total of the Month.

Game: Edmonton at Minnesota (8:00 PM Eastern)

The Edmonton Oilers have pretty much held serve at home, but have been a road disaster at 5-11-1 on the season. Lately it doesn't matter where they are playing as the Oilers have now gone 3-10 in their last 13, which includes five straight losses on the road, where they have been outscored by a 20-9 count, losing by over 2 goals per contest. Minnesota was a victim of one of those three Edmonton wins losing on the road 4-1, so they will be primed and ready for revenge tonight at home. The Wild has dropped eight straight games themselves, but have been cash cows at home vs. a team with a road mark of less than .400 where they have gone 51-21 in their last 72. The Oilers are a pathetic 12-51 in their last 63 on the road vs. a team with a winning home record. Play on Minnesota.

Game: Columbus at Dallas (8:30 PM Eastern)

The Columbus Blue Jackets have been horrible on the road this season, posting a 3-12-2 mark through their 17 travel dates. They started 0-8 on the road and have been doing a better job at 3-6 in their last nine. Dallas owns a home and away wins vs. Columbus this year putting the Blue Jackets in a double-revenge mindset here, so expect their best shot. Dallas’ lofty record was created with a big 11-3 start to the season, but that team has left the building and has been replaced by one that has an elongated 21-game stretch that has seen them fall to mediocrity at 9-12. The Stars have been plagued by the "2s" as they are 9-23 vs. a team that allowed 2 goals or fewer in their previous game and 1-7 s a team that scored 2 or less in their last game. The Jackets are in their money zone, posting a 5-2 mark vs. a team allowing 5+ in their last game. Columbus gets the call.
