4-STAR New York +1 over BOSTON - Spotlight games and revenge are both important to the Knicks. They have the opportunity to get that here and kick a rival while they are down and we look for them to own the spotlight in this one with a big effort from Carmelo Anthony.
They lost such a game Monday at home to Brooklyn, 88-85. They lost that game despite committing only five turnovers in the contest. The Knicks are 7-0 ATS (9.5 ppg) since April 06, 2000 with two or more days of rest after a loss in which they committed fewer than ten turnovers. Also, teams which are rested after committing five or fewer turnovers last game are 134-112-5 ATS.
New York made three more baskets than Brooklyn in that game but got beat at the three-point line. The Knicks are 7-0 ATS (9.0 ppg) since April 18, 2007 on the road after a game at home after a loss in which they made more baskets than their opponent.
Carmelo had 29 points and played 45 minutes in the loss. The Knicks are 5-0 ATS (12.8 ppg) since January 24, 2012 after a loss at home in which Carmelo Anthony played more than 40 minutes.
Boston has lost four straight games including 95-90 in Cleveland Tuesday. Rajon Rondo's five turnovers did not help the cause. The Celtics are 0-6 ATS (-7.0 ppg) since May 10, 2012 with at least a day of rest after a loss in which Rajon Rondo had at least 5 turnovers.
These teams met two weeks ago with Boston winning 102-96. New York had gotten out to a 10 point first quarter lead though and led by three at halftime. The Knicks are 10-0 ATS (8.8 ppg) since November 08, 2003 on the road when seeking revenge for a loss as a home favorite in which they led at the half. Also, the Knicks are 7-0 ATS (6.6 ppg) since November 08, 2003 on the road when seeking revenge for a loss as a favorite in which they led by double digits.
Boston shot 53% from the field in the win. The Knicks are 7-0 ATS (4.6 ppg) since November 19, 2010 as a road dog when seeking revenge for a loss in which they allowed at least 50% shooting from the field. SPORTSBOOK BREAKERS PREDICTION: New York 99, BOSTON 90
